The "Cosmopolis" actor finally agreed to meet with his ex-girlfriend for an initial meeting.
The magazine revealed that the two have met on subsequent occasions, another source confirmed.
"They're working it out," the source tells Us. "He's still in love with her."
The vampire couple split when shocking photos surfaced in July that Stewart, 22, was cheating with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders. It was reported that the two were both extremely hurt and that Pattinson wasn't going to take Stewart back.
A report from People magazine also said that the two will get back together.
Pattinson, 26, met with his Bella actress last weekend.
And, according to an insider, Pattinson's friends "think they'll be a couple again."
While Pattinson was completely heartbroken over the split, said another source, moving on is "easier said than done ... and clearly harder than expected."
Reports recently surfaced that the two were secretly back together.
On Sept. 10, CTVNews reported that laineygossip.com said, "It was communicated to people during TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) that they are [back together] but they're worried about how it might affect his career, like whether or not there will be some kind of crazy backlash."
A source told how the smitten Brit had set up home with the brunette once more - adding: "They pretty much decided they couldn't live without each other.
"Kristen poured her heart out to Robert and told him it was a one-off and a mistake."
The Sun reported that just days ago, Kristen - who wore one of her ex's tops to fly to Toronto, Canada, to plug her new movie "On The Road" - jetted back to join him at Reese Witherspoon's California ranch.
The source confirmed, "Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake. After a lot of long tearful talks, they've worked it out.
"Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven her. They really do love each other."
The pair have now moved into a secluded pad in the same Los Angeles compound where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a place.
The source said: "For now they are focusing on themselves."
This is definitely good for "Twilight" promotion, which will soon be around the corner. The epic finale, "Breaking Dawn Part 2," will arrive in theaters Nov. 16 and fans are hoping that the two will be back together by then (or APPEAR to be together for the fans).
