'Looking For Alaska' Movie Adaptation Starring Taylor Swift? 'Bad Blood' Singer Eyed by Author John Green

"Paper Towns" is the second novel written by John Green that enjoyed the silver screen treatment. The first one was the tearjerker romance film, "The Fault in our Stars." Notably, the movie adaptations do and sell as great as their book counterparts, which is why singer Taylor Swift was also swayed.

On her Twitter account, she posted nothing but good words for Green, who she said was her "favorite" writer. Green thanked the singer-songwriter for her kind words. During his latest stop at Access Hollywood, he talked about the possibility of working with Swift in the "Looking for Alaska" film adaptation.

"She'd be a great Takumi," the novelist said. A female version of him at least. There's not much known about the character as he wasn't in the book at every scene, Shmoop writes. What's most notable about him though is his 'mad rapping skills.'"

Green also said Swift could also play the role of The Colonel, the short and stocky roommate of "Looking for Alaska" protagonist Miles. This character is known for his uber confidence that almost always overshadows his rather dark past.

"It could be one of those movies where Taylor Swift plays every character, just in a different outfit... like Austin Powers. Starring Taylor Swift, AND Taylor Swift," he quipped. "Let's keep our fingers crossed for that," he added.

Unfortunately, Green revealed that it is not his call on who is playing, although he did put across the fact that he is a "big Taylor Swift fan." Meanwhile, as for other reports on the cast for "Looking for Alaska," The Wrap reports that more stars are joining in.

According to the publication, Charlie Rowe, who was one of the young actors that competed to take the "Spider-Man" mantle (ultimately won by Tom Holland) is now competing against Mitchell Hope from Disney's "The Descendant" for the role of the male lead character, Miles.

As for the role of Alaska--the mysterious, beautiful woman Miles falls for--it might eventually be snagged by "The Witch" actress Anya Taylor-Joy, who is reportedly the frontrunner. Model Immy Waterhouse isn't far behind.

The Wrap adds that director Rebecca Thomas is open to having a newcomer to play the female lead although Paramount had the likes of Chloe Grace Moretz or Daisy Ridley in mind.

"Looking for Alaska" follows the story of Miles, who falls head over heels for Alaska, a student he met in his new boarding school. Wyck Godfrey will be the producer. Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber, who also penned the script for "The Fault in Our Stars" and "Paper Towns," will write the screenplay.
