The latest threats the Avengers have to take care of aren't like Ultron at all. These new foes are taking greed a little too literal. Anime News Network reports that artist Yusaku Komiyama's newest manga story pits the Earth's mightiest heroes against a horde of hungry flesh-eaters.

The manga titled "Avengers: Zombies Assemble" will follow these zombies which will become the source of one of Tony Stark's bad birthdays. Just in time for the sassy billionaire blowing his candle, zombies overrun the city eating everyone they can and infecting the ones they can't.

Thor, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Black Widow and Hawkeye first team up to organize a surprise party for Stark. Unfortunately, they did not take into account the possibility of trouble-making uninvited guests, making the party a mess and the visitors trying to make a meal out of each other.

As Crunchy Roll points out, the superheroes try to stop the zombies from infecting more people and making the epidemic more uncontainable but in the process, some of the members of the posse get infected and from there, things only get stranger.

I09 mentions that Black Widow's version in the manga resembles Scarlet Johansson's look on "Captain America: Civil War." Thor, as always, dazzles by wolfing down what should be a really tasty sandwich.

The site reiterates that the manga won't head to the west but it did mention that it will likely be translated (probably a good week or two after it releases), citing that the Marvel and "Attack on Titan" crossover got the same treatment.

Anime News Network says that "Avengers: Zombies Assemble" is a Japan-exclusive. Komiyama also released an "Episode 0" manga that's meant to be a prequel to the blockbuster film "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which was published in Shonen Magazine earlier this month.

Comic Book Resources says that the cover art for the "Avengers: Zombies Assemble" doesn't give away much, only showing a severed zombie hand extending to Iron Man's head. Thankfully though, a Twitter account AmeComiGazo posted the artwork inside the pages.

As per Anime News Network, this new story is reminiscent to "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman's work that always included flesh-eaters. It was a Marvel Zombies comic mini-series that ran from 2005 to 2006. It was very popular that it courted several spinoffs.

 "Avengers: Zombies Assemble" will be released via the Japanese version of the Mangabox platform tomorrow, July 29.
