Today, in you-literally-can't-write-stuff-this-good news: "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James finally revealed the real inspiration behind all of her novel's steamy, kinky sex scenes. Her muse? Fittingly enough, the musical equivalent of masochism: The songs of The Black Eyed Peas.

Discussing her creative process with British newspaper The Sun, James divulged, "I have songs that I write sex to. One of them is The Black Eyed Peas' 'Sexy'. That is a very sexy song." She said in the least self-aware interview ever.

The song "Sexy" is a sexy song? Indeed it is, Ms. James. Indeed it is.

"Sexy" appears on The Black Eyed Peas' 2003 album "Elephunk." It features suggestive - and dare we say BDSM-like? - lyrics such as:

"Let's get sexy/Let's get sexy/Sounds so good/Sounds so good/Fightin' is rightin'/ Fightin' is rightin'/Let's get sexy"

"I'm likin' you rubbin' me / And you likin' me rubbin' you"

"No need to get dramatic/ But I gotta have it/ Gimme some of them sexual acrobatics/ Kama Sutra girl, anything that suits you girl/ Things you ain't used to girl/ Come over here and let me show you just how we will do it/ I'm a freak and you knew it/ Your a freak and I knew it/ Baby let's get to it"

and "I put L-O-V-E in you / I love puttin' me in you/ Make love to you/ Just like Sergio Mendez play piano."

Wow. Can't you just imagine Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele getting it on in the "Red Room of Pain" with "Sexy" in the background?

Despite James's fondness for the inspirational sounds of The Black Eyed Peas, "Sexy," the song, does not appear on the "Fifty Shades Of Grey" album, which instead features a selection of classical music James says inspired the novel.

Since being published last year, "Fifty Shades Of Grey" has become notorious for its explicit sexual content and controversial portrayal of a relationship involving BDSM. The novel has now sold more than 5.5 million copies to British readers, making it the UK's biggest-selling book of all time. All three books from James' trilogy have remained in the top five of The New Yorks Times' bestsellers list for over three months.

A film version of the novel is also is in the works, but has no confirmed stars yet. Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Matt Bomer, and Robert Pattinson are among many actors' names who've been mentioned in casting the leading role of Christian Grey, a troubled businessman who seduces an innocent college graduate called Anastasia Steele.

For all the speculation surrounding the casting of the movie adaptation of the book, we haven't heard many - if any - suggestions as to what the soundtrack should be for the film. Now, we at least have something to go on. We're guessing a soundtrack that alternates between songs like "Sexy" (tastefully paired with LMFAO's "Sexy And I Know It"?), and brooding, melodramatic classical arrangements like "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." So, yeah - exactly what you imagined while reading the book.
