Galaxy Note 2 Release Date, Specs: T-Mobile Announces 'Phablet' Available in 'Coming Weeks,' But HTC DLX, Droid Incredible X Specs to Compete?

T-Mobile has finally announced details about Samsung's Galaxy Note 2.

According to the press release, the Galaxy Note 2 will be available in the coming weeks. It will come in Titanium Gray and Marble White color options.

"The Samsung Galaxy Note II is the latest innovative device to join T-Mobile's portfolio. It takes the all-in-one device concept to the next level and we anticipate it will replace many standalone devices consumers have today," said Brad Duea, senior vice president, product management, T-Mobile USA. "When combined with our Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan, the Galaxy Note II is a true powerhouse device with exclusive features, amazing 4G experiences and superior value that only T-Mobile can deliver."

The Galaxy Note 2 with T-Mobile is similar to other specs for other U.S. Carriers, however, it includes an entertainment feature.

T-Mobile included a preloaded new racing game on the device, which will include all three free levels.

"In addition, T-Mobile's exclusive version of the racing game will be optimized to interact with a MOGATM Mobile Gaming System, bringing an immersive, console-quality gaming experience to the palms of T-Mobile customers' hands," the press release said.

According to AndroidAuthority, TmoNews reported that the type of game it will be.

"While prices are not available at this time, T-Mobile will offer both the Marble White and Titanium Grey models to interested buyers, complete with bloatware on top. Among the many pre-loaded apps you'll also find Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the device."

Also, the Galaxy Note 2 will come with T-Mobile's Wi-Fi calling feature "making it easy for T-Mobile customers to make and receive calls no matter where life takes them."

Samsung's "phablet" will feature a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen and a rear 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and front 1.9 megapixel CT camera. It has a 1.6 Ghz quad-core processor and 4G LTE data speeds. It is also expected to have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed and come with the S Pen experience and comes with up to 64GB of memory with 2GB RAM and a microSD slow up to 64GB.

While the device seems to be winning spec comparisons with phones such as the Nokia Lumia 920 and Apple's iPhone 5, there might be a smartphone that comes in competition with the highly anticipated phone.

HTC's new DLX, also known as the Droid Incredible X or HTC One X 5, has been in tech reports rumored as HTC's new device.

The specs were revealed by Tapscape. It will have a Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 Ghz processor, 5-inch display, 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB Internal Storgare, a 12MP rear-facing camera, complemented by a 2MP shooter on the front, a massive 2,500mAh non-removable battery, and will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right out the box. It will also have a full HD display.

According to Gottabemobile, the display that HTC put on the HTC One X was "fantastic, some would argue it's on par with the iPhone's Retina Display, and it could be that it does something amazing with the display of the Droid Incredible X as well." Also, the report said that the DLX matches up "quite well" and that HTC did a good job with the cameras on the One Series and with the DLX, it will hopefully use similar, if not better technology.

Tapscape reported, "Looking at these specs, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is still the better device - a bigger battery, more RAM, a faster processor and a screen that's bigger by half an inch. However, HTC's been known to deliver some pretty solid and sexy looking smartphones so we're still curious as to what the HTC DLX will end up looking like and if it has any other surprise features that could convince users to pick it over the Samsung Galaxy Note 2."

According to Gottabemobile, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note 2 on Oct. 24.

"The evidence points to this and the invitation that Samsung sent out makes it clear that this is what's on tap for that date in New York City. And from evidence we've seen, T-Mobile plans on launching the Galaxy Note 2 on October 24th. It's unclear if 'launch' means announce or release though," the website explained.

Samsung recently sent out invitations for an event that could be for the new "phablet."

In terms of carriers, along with T-Mobie, the other four carriers are AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and U.S. Cellular.
