Lea Michele's New Book Makes Her BFF Jonathan Groff Famous

Lancaster native Jonathan Groff is sharing a bit of the limelight with his BFF Lea Michele lately.

Michele devotes a chapter of her book, "Brunette Ambition," to her BFF. She also gushed about their friendship on this morning's Elvis Duran radio show as she made the promotional rounds for not only the book, but her second single, "On My Way," off of her album "Louder." She's been a busy girl, with at least five appearances in the past day.

Michele also noted that Groff would be accompanying her to her book signing tonight at Barnes & Noble in Union Square in Manhattan.

Michele, who is well-known for her role as Rachel on Fox's "Glee," tackles a plethora of topics within the covers of "Brunette Ambition," including advice, beauty tips, lessons learned from her Broadway career (she performed in "Spring Awakening" with Groff), recipes, and stories from her life and relationship with her "Glee" co-star, the late Cory Monteith.

So, let's take a look and see what we learned about Groff in Michele's "Love Letter to Jonathan Groff" in "Brunette Ambition":

  • He's come a long way in his fashion sense. Groff showed up for "Spring Awakening" auditions "wearing jeans that were way too short and a shirt that had clearly been washed when it needed to be dry-cleaned. And the gel! His hair was hard as a rock."
  • Groff and Michele have been kicked out of Broadway shows for getting into giggle fits in the audience. And laughing has gotten Michele into trouble more than once with Groff. Right before singing for President Barack Obama, Groff and Michele got into a wrestling match/tickle fest that resulted in Michele peeing her pants. She assures readers that she showered before singing for the president.
  • To help Michele nurse a broken heart, Groff had her watch every Meryl Streep movie while he was away on vacation and then quizzed her upon his return.
  • Not only are Michele and Groff best friends, their parents are, too.
  • Michele credits Groff with helping her land her "Glee" role, after he introduced her to Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the show.
