'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' Trailer & US Release Date: New York Comic-Con Premiere Announced

A new Naruto movie is coming but it's not entirely about him. This time, it is centered on the legendary ninja's son, Boruto.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will premiere on October 10, Naruto's birthday, at the New York Comic Con, Viz Media, which has license to produce "Naruto" manga and anime in America, said via Twitter.

Japanese voice actress Yuko Sanpei is reported to give life to Boruto. Meanwhile, Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama will be voicing Naruto Uzumaki and his friend and rival, Sasuke Uchiha, respectively.

The film, which will debut in Japan on August 7, is a spin-off film of the consistent New York Times bestselling manga, "Naruto."

The film's story is centered on Naruto Uzumaki's son, Boruto, who has ambitions of surpassing his father's accomplishments and takes after his father in calling people's attention with his pranks.

The first full trailer with English subtitles was released recently, according to Kotaku. It reveals the primary conflict of the story: the difficulty of being the legendary village hero and leader's son.

The screening will be held as part of the New York Super Week, a pop culture festival to be held from October 5 to 11.

Masashi Kishimoto, creator of the "Naruto" manga, is reportedly making his first international appearance at the event. He also wrote the story and designed the characters for the movie.

He is participating in two panels: one on October 8 and another on October 10. He is also holding autograph sessions at Kinokuniya Bookstore and Barnes & Noble.

"Kishimoto is one of the biggest names in manga and a major influence on artists across the globe," NYCC global senior vice president Lance Fensterman said in a statement.

"We're thrilled to have him added to our lineup this year and think fans are going to love the chance to get close to an icon."

Viz Media also announced the upcoming releases of the Naruto franchise, including "Uzumaki Naruto: Illustrations," a collection full-color images of characters of the manga and "Naruto: Kakashi's Story," a novel that depicts Kakashi, Naruto's teacher, on a dangerous mission.

Boruto first appeared in Chapter 700, the completing epilogue of the manga that ran for 15 years. The chapter was set ten years after the fourth world war of the ninjas.

By then, Naruto is already "the Seventh Hokage," succeeding his teacher Kakashi, the Sixth and his father, the Fourth. In the movies, Boruto first appeared in the previous film, "The Last: Naruto the Movie."
