'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Uma Thurman to Play Mrs. Robinson (Elena)?

Many fans are focusing on the lead roles of the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, which are (as if you don't know already) Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

However, another important role needs to be cast perfectly so the movie can go right as well.

That is the woman who turned Christian into what he is, Elena Lincoln.

The "Fifty Shades" trilogy ("Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker," "Fifty Shades Freed"), written by E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM while trying to understand their complicated relationship.

Elena (whom Anastasia semi-jokingly dubs Mrs. Robinson) [SPOILER ALERT!!] was one of Christian's mother's close married older friends, and coaxed him into an affair with her.

Elena was Christian's first sexual experience and, according to him, introduced him to the world of BDSM by making him her submissive, which sparked teenage arousal in him. The affair lasted until he was 21-years-old when her husband found out, and although they are no longer sexual, they still remain close friends (until "Fifty Shades Freed").

A new contender is "Bel Ami" star Uma Thurman. She recently made headlines because she received an Elle award at the 19th Women in Hollywood ceremony on Monday, hosted by Elle magazine.

According to Umathurman.org, "Bel Ami" co-star Robert Pattinson paid tribute to the "Kill Bill" actress, saying, "(Working with Uma was) a pretty crazy experience. Her role was someone more intelligent, more charming, wittier and better in bed than me. Which was obviously very difficult to cast."

The Examiner said of Thurman for Mrs. Robinson, "Uma Thurman showed she still has what it takes to turn any man's head, even a gorgeous Christian Grey, when she stepped out for the Elle celebration. The 42 year-old beauty was honored at the ceremony where she flaunted her figure in a tight black dress."

Thurman has recently signed on to Lars von Trier's new film, "Nymphomaniac," which features real on-screen sex. Shia LaBeouf stars in the new movie.

"Thurman is no stranger to intense, button-pushing material, as she has done the violent side with Quentin Tarantino and the sexual side in the first-ever NC-17 film, Henry & June. But just what she'll do in this movie is unclear," Slashfilm wrote.

This is good news for an Elena contender, because a flashback of Christian and his first BDSM partner will be full of sex scenes.

Thurman is featured as Elena on two Pinterest pages. [HERE, HERE] She is also Elena on a Tumblr page, where fan favorites Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel are Christian and Ana.

The author of the Tumblr page said, "While reading the book, I had her as the Mrs Robinson, in my mind. I'm certain she will play the role perfectly because she's blonde, she's pretty, she's old(er), and she can come across very domineering."

On Liggybee.blogspot.com, the website picked Thurman as the best choice for Mrs. Robinson versus Cameron Diaz and fan favorite Charlize Theron.

"I think the best choice would be Uma Thurman because she can be believably mature enough for the role but yet sexy and still young enough to make Anastasia insecure about herself and doubtful of Christian's sincerity.  Doesn't she look like she could be classy businesswoman with a deep dark secret past?" the writer said.

Annmariewalker.blogspot.com also featured Thurman as a contender, saying that Thurman placed second place in a three-way tie with her, Kim Cattrall, and Michelle Pfeiffer in a poll.

On FirstThoughts.org, one commenter said that Thurman should be Mrs. Robinson, no hands down.

"I have come up with the perfect cast. Kellan Lutz as Christian Grey Lily Collins as Anastasia (Ana) Steele Blake Lively as Katherine (Kate) Kavanagh Chris Evans as Elliott Grey Zac Efron as Ethan Kavanagh Selena Gomez as Mia Grey Wentworth Miller as Jason Taylor Eric Dane as Carrick Grey Jennifer Aniston as Grace Trevelyan Grey Bruce Willis as Ray Steele Jude Law as Dr. Flynn Uma Thurman as Elena Lincoln It's perfect. Don't even try to argue with us."
