There is no better way to top off a huge turkey, stuffing, and green bean casserole with a few games of American Football.

Six NFL teams play on Thanksgiving Day. Take a look at the line-up:

Houston Texans at Detroit Lions

12:30 p.m. EST on CBS

"The Lions host the Texans in their annual Thanksgiving game hoping to recapture some of the magic they had last season."

This is the first Thanksgiving the Texans will play their favorite sport, according to FOX News. They are looking to improive their franchise best 9-1 start with a win over the Lions, who have the NFC's top offense with wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

The Lions are in last place in the NFC North and looking to win this game to get to the playoffs.

According to FOX, Texans Coach Gary Kubiak said playing four days after an overtime game on Sunday, "is tough, but I think that's what builds the character of your team."

Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys

4:15 p.m. EST on FOX

"The Redskins and Cowboys square off in a traditional Thanksgiving day matchup with big NFC East implications."

According to FOX, the Cowboys will take on the rookie quarterback "phenom" Robert Griffin III and the Redskins. The game will make Griffin's first time playing as a professional in the Dallas since winning the Heisman trophy as quarterback for Texas' Baylor University.

"Griffin is fresh off the Redskins' 31-6 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles were RG3 went 14 of 15 for 200 yards with four touchdowns," the report said. However, "They need to put together a streak, and a victory over the Cowboys (5-5) followed by another against the New York Giants (6-4) would get Washington to .500 and truly make the team a legitimate contender for the NFC East title."

New England Patriots at New York Jets

8:20 p.m. EST on NBC

"The Patriots travel to MetLife Stadium to take on a Jets team galvanized by a big Week 11 win. Can the Pats pull out a win without Rob Gronkowski?"

The Patriots are coming to the state that made every headline because of the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. New York is looking to revive and bring the spirit back to its popular state, and a win against the Patriots might just do that.

It's Mark Sanchez vs Tom Brady.

According to FOX, the Jets are currently tied with Buffalo and Miami at 4-6 for second place with the Patriots holding a three-game lead.

Patch.com writer Justin Reynolds raised this question: "Will Tom Brady be able to lead the Patriots over the Jets? This writer imagines it won't be a problem. But will the loss of Gronkowski hurt the Patriots come playoff time?"
