'Fifty Shades of Grey' Casting: Keira Knightley Confirms Not Part of the Film, Lucy Hale Tops Casting Vote For The Role of Anastasia Steele

Actress Keira Knightley confirms firmly that she is not part of the movie adaptation of novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" and Lucky Hale tops polls for viewers' favorite top ten contenders for the role of Anastasia Steele.

With a onset of a new week, new rumors and speculations about the casting for the movie adaptation of E.L. James erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" rise. Actress Keira Knightley has confirmed that she is definitely not going to be a part of the film.

"No, it's not. It's not going to be 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. You know, I normally don't like to give a definite about anything, (but) I can definitely say it will not be 'Fifty Shades of Grey'," First Post quoted the actress saying.

Knightley, who was strongly rumored to be a part of the film, admits she hasn't even read that book and has no idea how these rumors began.

"I can't imagine why! Um, I haven't even read it yet, actually. I mean just from, friends who've gotten into it, and I've gone, 'No.' I did 'A Dangerous Method.' That had a bit of all that in it. I don't think I need to do it again," Latino Post quotes Knightley as saying.

Meanwhile, "Pretty Little Liars" actress Lucy Hale has topped this week's poll of the viewers' favorite to play the role. Co-incidentally, Hale is the only actress among the actresses rumored for role who has actually finished reading the novel.

Hale won 25% of the votes making her a clear winner, with Dear John's Amanda Seyfried and Harry Potter's Emma Watson following far behind with 12% of the votes each. Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene also won a few votes with a 7% for Stewart and 5% for Greene.

Examiner earlier reported Hale expressing her desire to play the role. "I think every girl on the red carpet wants to play [Anastasia], to be honest. That would be freaking awesome. I'm really curious to see how they will turn [the book] into a film," the website quoted her saying.
