The Star Wars universe is expansive and replete with narratives. The impending release of the "The Acolyte" series has generated fervent anticipation among fans. This forthcoming installment explores the rise of evil forces during the zenith of the Jedi's authority. Although situated chronologically prior to the events delineated in the novels, "The Acolyte" maintains intricate ties to the extensive mythology of the High Republic era.

Books to Read Before the Series

"The Acolyte" will take place later in the time of the High Republic. It will connect closely with the stories in the High Republic books and comics that have been growing since 2020. Enthusiasts do not have to read all of them to enjoy "The Acolyte," but they can add to their experience if they want to explore more. Nevertheless, for individuals seeking a more profound comprehension, delving into novels and comics can enhance the viewing experience.

The inclusion of Jedi Vernestra Rwoh, a character well-known to readers of the High Republic novels, in the trailer alludes to a significant connection. Vernestra's presence suggests an intriguing backstory, making her appearances in select High Republic content crucial for those looking to delve deeper into her character.

High Republic novels cover various genres and periods, offering a diverse range of storytelling experiences. Divided into phases, each series within the High Republic offers a unique perspective on the era. Phase 1, titled "Light of the Jedi," serves as an introduction to the era and is particularly relevant. Phase 2, called "Quest of the Jedi," happens 150 years before Phase 1. It gives background to the events in the earlier books, which are not as closely connected to "The Acolyte." Phase 3, "Trials of the Jedi," offers ongoing narratives that may also tie into the series.
