Meghan Markle visited the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles on March 21. She participated in a Literally Healing session, bringing joy and smiles to the young patients.

Engaging Storytime with Meghan Markle

During her visit, the Duchess of Sussex actively involved the children by delving into some of their beloved literary treasures, such as "Rosie the Riveter," "Pete the Cat," and "I Saw a Cat." However, her engagement surpassed mere recitation; she imbued the narratives with life, immersing herself fully into character to captivate her young audience with animated readings.

Moreover, Meghan did not limit her interaction to storytelling alone. She seamlessly integrated herself into STEAM activities aligned with the tales, providing an enriching blend of entertainment and education.

Recorded footage of the visit depicted the vibrant atmosphere as Meghan engaged with the children. Meghan shared that she loves "Rosie Revere, Engineer." She read with joy, getting the kids excited and singing along. She also took pictures with them, showing she cared about their snapshots.

Meghan has displayed her storytelling skills on various occasions. In May 2020, as part of Archie's first birthday celebration, she appeared in a video reading "Duck! Rabbit!" alongside her son. Inspired by her bond with Archie and Prince Harry, Meghan authored "The Bench," a poem initially dedicated to Harry on Father's Day after Archie's birth.

The book, dedicated to Harry and Archie, symbolizes their profound impact on Meghan's life. Megan read "The Bench" to children of P.S. 123 Mahalia Jackson School in Harlem during her visit where she shared her connection behind the story.

Commitment to Charity and Entrepreneurship

Meghan and Prince Harry have prioritized charitable work since their wedding. The pair established the Archewell Foundation in 2020. The foundation aims to drive cultural change through various initiatives. Meghan's commitment to charity remains unwavering. In December 2023, it was reported that Meghan is deeply involved in charity work, with Archewell being a central focus. The Welcome Project, launched by Archewell to support recently resettled Afghan women, is among the initiatives spearheaded by Meghan.

Alongside her philanthropic endeavors, Meghan is preparing to unveil her latest business venture, the American Riviera Orchard. This venture was announced on Instagram in March and is speculated to be reminiscent of her previous lifestyle blog, The Tig.

Promoting Literacy and Hope

The Literally Healing program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles is an important initiative that promotes literacy among young patients and their families. Events like Meghan's storytime contribute to the hospital's Make March Matter fundraiser, which supports its mission of providing hope and healthier futures for children.

The program annually provides more than 65,000 books to families at CHLA. Access to literacy resources has become difficult in recent times. The program aims to offer a variety of activities, events, and story times that promote literacy and foster a love for reading. Moreover, the program is dedicated to helping patient families feel better by providing extra therapeutic books and resources.

Meghan's visit is part of many other visits by famous people to the hospital, showing how being kind can make a difference. They do things like read stories and watch movies together, making everyone feel happier.
