Comic Book Turned Movie, 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' A Disappointment

Sometimes the predecessor is not an accurate depiction of what it is to follow, which seems to be the case in this situation.

The movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron" garnered a lot of problems and criticisms upon its release, making it incomparable to the first "Avengers" film that gained a total revenue of $1.5 billion in the global box office.

The criticisms are numerous, ranging from minor details to directing-related issues. For the most part, considering how great the special effects were in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and the first "Avengers", the "Age of Ultron" film came out as somewhat of a disappointment.

According to Forbes, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" should have been something of a "game-changer" in the series. Rather than featuring realistic effects, it seemed like it came straight out from a video game. Lack of texture and distinguishably inadequate background blending were simply a few of the problems regarding the visuals of the movie.

Apart from the visuals, the story did not even come off as satisfying for the critics, especially hard-core fans, notes Daily Mail. The movie did not contend to adrenaline-filled directing. In general, most of the situations in the movie were slowly paced. The buildup of action took too long and a lot of lackluster scenes that are almost unrelated to the plot filled the nearly two-hour movie. Also, when the action scenes do start, they tend to end too soon, not enough to compensate for the long build up.

Daily Mail also said that James Spader's underwhelming voice performance made the movie look like a joke. This was further supported by Chris Hemsworth's (Thor) series of running gag. Although some were fitting for the scene, it was mostly unwarranted with regards to the nature of the movie.

Due to the problems, the supposedly complex story behind the film was lost, which brought down the entire movie to its knees, according to Spectator. While it had some fans rooting for it, the population of the disappointed greatly outnumbers them.

This leads us to the next question, with "Age of Ultron" not fulfilling the intended expectations, will there be an upcoming follow-up movie? As of the moment, people can only hope that there is. Nobody wants an awful image of a good comic book in their heads, especially one that is supposed to highlight the success of the "Avengers" franchise.
