'Arrow' Season 4 Episode 1 Air Date & Trailer: Cast, Spoilers & Everything to Expect in New Season

When season 3 of "Arrow" ended, Oliver Queen rid himself of all things crime-fighting. He sped off with Felicity to a new town. When season 4 commences, the show will follow a real-time six-month gap and what transpired during those months, lead star Stephen Amell dished out in a TV Junkies interview and in Q&A video in his Facebook.

"They are away and I believe they are still away when we get going again," the actor said. When asked if the couple will find lasting happiness in the future, the star replies "Well you never know, but I think if anyone has a decent chance it's Oliver and Felicity. Time will tell."

[Spoiler Alert!] As noted by International Business Times, it was Oliver and Black Canary who ended up in each other's arms. But the seasons, as they panned out for Laurel Lance, do not indicate that a romance will fuel soon, should The CW ever planned on pairing them up together in the end.

While the future is still hazy yet promising for their romance, Amell teased that fans will notice changes in "Arrow" season 4. Despite going on its fourth run, the actor said to TV Junkies that "there are different elements that I think people are going to enjoy."

"We get to see some characters interact that weren't always the closest of friends or interacting on a regular basis which is neat when you're doing new stuff in the fourth season of a show," Amell elaborates, adding that this will happen as soon as the season kicks in.

According to Cinema Blend, the "different elements" Amell was talking about includes Thea's transition to another masked crossbow-wielding hero. Fans saw how Oliver's little sister evolved in the show and in "Arrow" season 4, she becomes a full-fledged Starling City guardian named Speedy.

The site believes that a big chunk of the season 4 plotline will belong to Thea, and viewers will see her interact with other characters like Laurel and Diggle (whom he will join in protecting the city) in a whole new way, which clearly brings major changes to the show.

Meanwhile, a part of the big "Arrow" season 4 changes also involves Amell possibly sitting on the director's seat for an episode in the new season.

"I am actually interested in directing and I've been asked a couple of times if I'd be interested in directing an episode of Arrow by [showrunner] Greg Berlanti," the actor revealed in the same TV Junkies interview.

"I would like to do it eventually, but to direct an episode of Arrow I think would be a nod towards my own vanity a little bit," he continued. The actor says that at the moment, with all the preparations needed and him starring in most episodes, "I just don't think it's the most practical instance."

"Arrow" season 4 will premiere October 7.
