Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus Release Date: Leaked Specs Sheet Reveals Powerful Package! Features & Price Details Here [Rumors]

Chinese startup Xiaomi is expected to release its flagship dubbed as the Xiaomi Mi 5 sometime soon. The purported smartphone is a regular in the rumor mills, but this time, its alleged big brother, which the web likes to call Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus, is the star of a new leak.

According to GSM Arena, the device in question paid a visit to China's official certification agency, TENAA, where some of its markedly remarkable specs were uncovered and most rumors about its package were debunked or confirmed.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus is one behemoth of a smartphone, with its IPS display set at 5.7 inches. This screen will be armored with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and will render a nice 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. But the biggest takeaway in this leak is the processor.

In the certification agency, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus is listed to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (the latest and most potent from the manufacturer), which means that it should pack supreme power and performance. Flagships from Xiaomi's competitors are only fitted out with the 810 processor, which easily puts the Xiaomi device on top of the pyramid.

To match this incredible power, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus will offer up 4GB of LPDDR4 (the newer and quicker type) RAM and 64GB of storage. Unfortunately, rumor mills were wrong about its camera features.

The upcoming Xiaomi phablet will only sport a 13MP (with dual-flash) camera on its rear and not a 23MP unit. The selfie camera, which was rumored to be at 13MP turns out to only be at 4MP, which is not at all bad.

According to Android Pit, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus is impressively thin considering all the power it houses and for its enormous size. GSM Arena states it will come in 155.1 x 77.6 x 6.95mm and will only weigh 160 grams.

As for its operating system, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus will likely run on Android Lollipop though it will be juxtaposed with Xiaomi's own MIUI for some personal touch. On the connectivity front, there's a snappy Cat.9 LTE, GPS as well as GLONASS on top of the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth access.

Missing from the TENAA listing is the battery capacity, which Techno Buffalo says will be a 3500mAh battery unit. The same site speculated that the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus will cost significantly higher than $386 or 2399 yuan.

Mobipicker reported the phablet will be out in November. Knowing the device already made a stop at TENAA, it won't take long before the device finally shows up.
