As unending film adaptations of novels and comic books are currently dominating Hollywood, live-action films of anime series are not backing down. Stories from manga and anime are now starting to hit theaters worldwide.

Recently, the live-action film, "Attack on Titan," hit theaters worldwide and is soon coming to the U.S. In the movie, mankind is threatened as the terror of massive giants feeding on human flesh reigns, and a young boymay be humanity's last hope.

A lot of fans have anticipated the release of the film, as the anime, known as "Shingeki No Kyojin" in Japan, has made its name as a successful dark fantasy manga series. It was written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama.

According to Forbes Magazine, "Attack on Titan" topped the Japanese box office on its opening weekend. The Verge also reports that Parts 1 and 2 of the film is debuting in North America on September 30 and October 20, respectively.

The following are more anime-turned-films that are rumored to be in the works.

"Naruto"

A "Naruto" live-action film is currently in progress at Lionsgate, as per a report from The Tracking Board.

According to the article, sources claim that Lionsgate has acquired rights to one of the popular manga series in history. Masashi Kishimoto wrote and illustrated the consistent New York Times-bestselling manga.

Moreover, an animated feature film about Naruto's son titled "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" is set to make its U.S. debut on October 10 at the New York Comic-Con.

"6000: Rokusen"

According to Anime News Network, there will be a live-action film of Nokuto Koike's "6000: Rokusen" manga.

In the manga, a tragic accident happened in a research facility hidden 6,000 meters under the Philippines Sea. The accident kills the entire crew.

After three years, an investigating team comes to the facility to investigate the case, where they find out more about the dangers in the area.

Edward McGurn and Ben Anderson are reported to be producing.

"Death Note"

Director Adam Wingard signed with Warner Bros. for a live-action adaptation of the popular horror manga, "Death Note," in April, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The story revolves around a student with a supernatural notebook from a Shinigami death god, where any name written on it will lead to the person's death. The student decides to be the judge of good and evil and uses the notebook.

Jeremy Slater from the "Fantastic Four" is reported to be writing the most recent draft of the script. No release date has been announced yet.

Other Warner Bros. live-action film adaptations include "Akira" and "Bleach."
