The fan-frenzy race for Christian Grey is on, and it's getting steamier by the day.

"Fifty Shades" fans are getting all worked up and over about which hot actor/star should play the key role in the hotly anticipated upcoming movie. Next on the list: Jessie Pavelka.

"Fifty Shades of Grey," written by bestselling author E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM (bondage, dominance, submission, masochism).

The 29-year-old actor is a little older than Christian, but fans are putting him in the spotlight for his sexy, chiseled bod and grey eyes.

Pavelka is best known as the hunky trainer on the Lifetime show "DietTribe." He also starred in the movie "Friday Night Lights," and "12 Men of Christmas."

Gather Entertainment reported that although Pavelka does not have the same amount of acting experience as some other "Fifty Shades" nominees, he has the look for the part.

"He definitely has the right look for the role, and at least he's comfortable in front of a camera. As a trainer he also has plenty of experience getting uncomfortably close to women and making them sweat," Gather reported.

Penguinsncookies listed Pavelka as "The Hunky Gamble" in their list of stars to play Christian. On their poll, he came in second choice to "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder.

One Books & Review commenter said, "Jessie Pavelka for Christian Grey. He has the face and the body.  Hopefully he can act because I really can't see anyone else in the role." Another fan said, "#TeamJessiePavelka."

Ian Somerhalder, 33, is a popular choice among the list of stars. He plays Damon on the sexy vampire TV show, has been showing that he wants to play the role of 27-year-old Christian. Last month, he even held a sort of campaign on his Twitter, making it clear that he's more than qualified to take the role, according to The Hollywood Gossip. Fans are dying for him to be the one. One commenter said, "It has to be Ian Somerhalder!"

"Immortals" star Henry Cavill, 29, and "White Collar" star Matt Bomer, 34, are both very linked to the crucial role. Fans are flooding the comment page with their pick on who to play Christian.

"True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard, 35, "Supernatural" star Jensen Ackles, 34, "Drive" star Ryan Gosling, 31, and "Magic Mike" star Alex Pettyfer, 22, are all said to the in the frontrunning for the role. Other include "Star Trek" Chris Pine, Colin Egglesfield, "Snow White and the Huntsman" star Chris Hemsworth, and "Dancing with the Stars" William Levy.
