Kristen Stewart Visibly Mourns Robert Pattinson on Toronto Film Festival Red Carpet (Pics, Video)

In her first official appearance since she publicly apologized for cheating on boyfriend Robert Pattinson more than a month ago, a seemingly thinner Kristen Stewart appeared to still be visibly mourning the breakdown of her relationship with Pattinson when she stepped out at the Toronto Film Festival last night.

Friends Say Robert Pattinson Needs Rehab?Actor Distraught, Drinking

From Stewart's appearance on the red carpet last night to promote her latest film, "On the Road," it was evident that she is still suffering from the aftermath of her cheating scandal. Kristen's facial expression and her demeanor in these pictures say it all. The "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" actress' state of mind was obvious from the stony, cold look of sadness on her face which she alternated with a seemingly forced smile.

At one point Stewart stood with her arms folded protectively across her chest, and the light was missing from her eyes when she smiled.

In other pictures it seems Stewart was there only out of a sense of obligation. Her facial expressions indicated that she was just tolerating the event until she could make an escape.

Several sources reported Stewart's hair appeared unkempt, especially from the back. According to Canada.com, her hair actually looked better as she made her way to the airport for her flight to Toronto, wearing one of Pattinson's T-shirts.

Some sources even point to Stewart's fashion choices at the event as more evidence of the star's mourning. Stewart opted for a floral sequined Zuhair Murad dress that stopped just below the knee, which was a far cry from revealing bare shouldered, thigh high, or low cut dresses she's worn in the past.

Sun Media reports that during the hour and a half that Kristen was on red carpet at the festival, she occasionally signed autographs and posed with fans behind the barrier. But judging from the sometimes far-away gaze on Stewart's face, her mind was clearly somewhere else. Stewart is also said to have acknowledged that she was braving the press.

Of course, this is all just speculation based on promotional photographs Stewart was forced to take, and the actress was indeed most likely contractually obligated to attend the Toronto Film Festival. Plus, when does she not resemble a cold, stone-faced vampire in mourning? It's kind of her thing.

No Hope For Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Pattinson Moving Back to England?

Perhaps the "Twilight" star's thoughts were with Pattinson, and fellow "Twilight" cast members at the MTV Video Music Awards which were taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles at the same time.

Meanwhile at the MTV Video Music Awards where Pattinson and "Twilight" cast members unveiled a new "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" trailer, award host Kevin Hart addressed the topic of the Stewart early on in the event, urging the audience to give her a break. ''Everybody's mad at Kristen Stewart for making a mistake. She allegedly messed around with the director of 'Snow White and the Huntsman'.

''If she did, so what? It's over. Move on. The point that I'm making is this, if you made a mistake . . . so what?!''

We forgive celebrities every day. Hell, a lot of the time, we even celebrate then for their mistakes, so why does the controversy continue over Stewart's indiscretion?
