With season four of "The Vampire Dairies" premiering on Oct. 11, we've got a steady drip of casting news, and juicy information from sources close to the show to keep us salivating for more. And today's no different.
This season Meredith Fell (Torrey DeVitto) is going to be in trouble with the two Salvatore brothers. Which makes sense -she is the one responsible for Elena transforming into a vampire. She gave Elena vampire blood to try and save her when she treated her at the hospital the night she died. DeVitto recently teased what is to come in a recent interview shared by Spoiler TV.
"Meredith felt the urge to help Elena, and did it the most efficient way she knew how, which was giving her vampire blood. I think the situation was dire, and she knew if she asked Damon or Stefan, they would have dissuaded her from doing that, and she felt the need to save her ... Yes, Meredith will be back in season four. i'm very excited about that. I am really excited to see where they take her. I have read the first episode, and it is great. I love the path she is going down."
Off screen, DeVitto is married to the actor behind Stefan Salvatore, Paul Wesley.
In more casting news, according to TV Guide, Klaus will have some new hybrids when "The Vampire Diaries" returns.
Blake Hood and Alyssa Diaz have been tapped to play his minions, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Hood (90210, The Young and the Restless) and Diaz (The Nine Lives of Chloe King, As the World Turns) will play Dean and Kimberly, respectively. Both hybrids are under Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) control, though Hood will appear in Episode 5, while Diaz will first pop up in Episode 6.
The last we saw of Klaus, he had switched bodies with Tyler (Michael Trevino) so he wouldn't die at the hands of the possessed Alaric (Matt Davis). That should make for some interesting confusion for Caroline (Candice Accola) when the "The Vampire Diaries" returns in October.
