Keanu Reeves goes even deeper into the world of literature with a new novel, "The Book of Elsewhere," in collaboration with acclaimed writer China Miéville. The announcement on Good Morning America revealed that the novel is based on Reeves' 2021 comic book series "BRZRKR." Reeves cannot wait to dive deeper into the vast "BRZRKR" world in this joint work. The novel is set to release in July 2024, and reports say that it will focus on the story of an immortal warrior moving through various timelines. 

Collaborating With China Miéville

Reeves, noted for his appearance in the movie "John Wick," expressed his excitement about this project and collaborating with Miéville. Reeves states that Miéville, a New York Times-bestselling author, brings a clear vision and a creative approach to the "BRZRKR" universe. Reeves commented that it is an honor for him to work with Miéville on this particular project.

Miéville is a science fiction and fantasy genre writer whose works vary from the young adult novel "Un Lun Dun" 2017 to collections of short stories like those titles of "Looking for Jake" and "Three Moments of an Explosion." His existential thrill, "The City & The City," also received a number of accolades ranging from an Arthur C Clarke Award and Hugo Prize to the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel.  

Expanding the 'BRZRKR' Universe

This novel adds another facet to the "BRZRKR" series, which was initially a comic book. The book expands upon the tale of Berzerker, a character who is part mortal and part god, embarking on a journey to uncover the secret to his immortality, with the possibility of breaking free from it.

"BRZRKR" is a series of comic books co-created by Reeves, writer Matt Kindt, and artist Ron Garney; it became the highest-grossing original debut in over 25 years for selling records. The story follows B, a half-god and half-mortal, who is cursed to be violent, even if it makes him lose his mind. After traveling the world for a long time, he found refuge by working for the U.S. government to handle perilous battles. In return, he learns the truth about his never-ending bloody life and how to stop it. The series is also being adapted into a feature film and an anime series by Netflix.

"The Book of Elsewhere" is a  science fiction novel with captivating characters and a unique storyline that combines action, drama, and existentialism seemleasly. Del Rey, the Penguin imprint publishing the novel in the UK, anticipates a masterpiece that will leave readers both moved and amazed.
