Samsung Galaxy Note 5 & Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Release Date Next Month? New Report Confirms Outing & Stellar Specs [Rumors]

Samsung's next breed of smartphones are the constant subjects of leaks and rumors in the past few weeks. Among these is a report from Sam Mobile, stating that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be officially unmasked on August 12.

According to a new report, this time from Business Korea, the launch is, in fact, a day early. The media outlet claims that the powerful frequently rumored flagships will be released on August 13 in New York.

According to GSM Arena, this may likely be the case for the reason that the leaked dates are not too far apart and that images and reports regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are just all over the place.

Business Insider says that a mid-August release date is early by Samsung standards as new offerings from the South Korea-based tech firm are usually released during the IFA event in Berlin. But there is an important reason why Samsung is pushing the release date forward.

According to Business Korea, Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus earlier than expected all in the name of beating Apple in the market. With the new iPhones expected to release in September, Samsung is trying to divert the attention away from its rival and into them.

Samsung is working on keeping its position in the chain of command, Tech Radar surmises. As already reported by Books N Review, the Cupertino-based tech company is aiming for their biggest shipment for the purported iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

Meanwhile, a separate GSM Arena report states that a new leak from a case manufacturer confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will don a curved back. The rest of the rumors suggest that the device will come in a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD quality.

It is also reportedly getting an Exynos 7422 processor under its hood, a hulking 4GB RAM and a 16MP rear-facing camera complete with Optical Image Stabilization or OIS. GSM Arena, in another report, says that the new Note and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have microSD support up to 128 GB.

On the other hand, the latter is expected to come with the same display as the Note 5 and will reportedly get the same primary camera too but there's info that it will sport a 5MP selfie snapper.
