Stuart Broad, the English cricket team's very own "hero" bowler, is set to pen a book that chronicles their struggle to reclaim the long-sought after Ashes victory. The book titled "Broadside" is described by publisher Simon & Schuster as a "fascinating insider's account" of how England rose up from "a winter of controversy and despair" that led to their remarkable victory over Australia.

England's captain Alastair Cook attributes the legendary win last month to the "underdogs" of the team. In an interview with Wales Online, he admitted that defeating their biggest cricketing rival is no easy feat. He said, "You've seen how strong Australia are in this game. So to have beaten them three times is a huge credit to the guys here."

In "Broadside," Broad will open up about the challenges his team faced and overcame over the winter as well as their struggle to knock over the "whitewash" England had to go through when they lost to Australia 5-0 in 2013-14. England has been through some harsh conditions and as they did, the team came together to pull off a success like no other. Notably, after the landslide success, England batsman Ian Bell hung his cricket bat for good.

"It's been an another incredible year to be a member of the England cricket team in which we have turned our fortunes around from the huge low of the World Cup early in the year to the ultimate high of winning an Ashes series. I'm delighted to have had the opportunity to recount the amazing roller coaster journey in the pages of this book," the England senior player said via The Bookseller.

As per the publication, Broad's cricketing success by the numbers looks like 205 international appearances representing his country, 84 Test caps wins and 308 wickets. Simon & Schuster sport head Ian Marshall expressed in the same interview how excited he was to put out such "wonderful and timely book."

He seems to be most thrilled about the inclusion of what he described as the "image of the series," the one that shows Stuart's reaction on Ben Stokes' Trent Bridge epic catch. He is also thrilled to know that England's "sweet and unexpected" triumph will be immortalized in "Broadside."

"Stuart not only gives the reader a brilliant insight into the game and the life of a modern cricketer, he also gives us all a chance to share in the joy of an astonishing sporting achievement," he added.
