Women-Owned Store ‘The Paper Garden Co.’ Offers an Inviting Community Space That Combines Books and Food

The Paper Garden Co., a community-oriented store in Indiana, offers its patrons diverse products and experiences. Owned by Cara LaBrozzi and Hannah Kimmel, the store provides a unique blend of books, plants, locally made food, and a warm atmosphere that fosters visitor connections.

Since its grand opening on January 20, The Paper Garden Co. has been a popular destination for the local community. It continuously attracts those interested in exploring its offerings and engaging in various activities hosted by the store. From book clubs to tea gatherings and crafting sessions, the store is a vibrant hub where people can share experiences and create lasting memories.

A Journey in Building a Community

The store's mission extends beyond mere business; it strives to foster community and inclusion, reflecting the atmosphere of other cherished local establishments nearby. LaBrozzi and Kimmel are dedicated to fostering connections with their clientele and ensuring a hospitable environment for everyone who enters.

Speaking to the Indiana Gazette, LaBrozzi and Kimmel expressed their delight with the response from the community. They mentioned having busy and slow days as they established a rhythm. The turnout for their grand opening was remarkable, exceeding their expectations.

Looking back on their journey since the soft opening in November, LaBrozzi highlighted the struggle of balancing work and personal life. They recognized the ongoing demands of running a small business alongside their roles as wives and mothers. Despite these challenges, they enjoyed seeing their children adjust and flourish within the business environment.

Alongside its retail selections, the store organizes special events and workshops. They also partner with local artisans and facilitate private gatherings and celebrations. Its ever-expanding inventory ensures diverse offerings for all tastes and preferences.

Looking ahead, the store plans to include serving iced tea and enhancing the deck area for outdoor enjoyment. The store is also available for private events like fairy garden and tea parties. Moreover, they continue to expand their offerings, including local author sections and collaborations with artisans like Sam Jam earrings and Philly Street Candle Bar for unique candle scents.

Exciting events like a Pysanky Egg workshop and Jazz Night featuring local talents are on the horizon. They even hosted a special Valentine's Day date night, underscoring their commitment to fostering community bonds.
