'Arrow' Season 4 Episode 1 Release Date & Trailer: Oliver Queen Going Green Now? Filming Kicks Off

The San Diego Comic-Con propagated a tumultuous amount of spoilers including Starling City's hooded hero, its new characters as well as major spoilers. Come "Arrow" season 4, Oliver Queen will don a brand new kickass suit, which actor Stephen Amell debuted during the convention.

According to Variety, the new costume was designed by Maya Mani, who also made Arsenal, Black Canary, Speedy and Ray Palmer look good in the field. The vigilante gear has more leather, less sleeves and greater badass impression.

As per IGN, Amell addressed his character as the Green Arrow (and Starling City as Star City), indicating that the show is ready to make a monumental step towards the introduction of Oliver's superhero identit, who is better known to the comic book world.

As part of the transformation for "Arrow" season 4, Amell said, in response to a fan, that Oliver will be as "silly" and "sarcastic" as his comic book counterpart. While on the subject of costumes and gear, Variety reports that Diggle will finally be donning a new mask in the upcoming season.

Apart from the discussion on the Green Arrow persona coming to life and Diggle getting a costume, it was also revealed that new characters are coming. According to Comingsoon, notable Batman villain, Anarky, will join the series as well as Mr. Terrific from "Justice Society."

The former will be helping out HIVE leader Damien Darkh (to be played by Neal McDonough), who was recently confirmed as the big bad in "Arrow" season 4, while the latter will be seen working closely and hanging out with Felicity. He will be portrayed a gay character too.

The show's executive producer, Marc Guggenheim, tweeted yesterday that production for season 4 has commenced. Along with the announcement, he posted a photo of the script showing the premiere episode's title: "Green Arrow."

According to Screen Crush, "Arrow" season 4 may even feature flashbacks of Coast City, which comic book fans know very well as Green Lantern's hometown. This is because this was where Oliver and Felicity chose to retreat and live a life sans crime-fighting in the season 3 finale.

The site also mentions that Wendy Mericle is now a showrunner along with Guggenheim, Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter in the new season and that "Punisher: War Zone" director Lexi Alexander will direct an episode.

The story of "Green Arrow" will officially begin on October 7, when "Arrow" season 4 premieres.
