'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: E.L. James Scoping Out Film Locations in Seattle, Portland?

Fans like to believe that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie is moving along.

Bestselling author E.L. James and producers Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti are remaining tight-lipped about casting the director and screenwriter, while crazy fans are constantly letting them who who should play the two lead roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

James is currently on her book tour for her popular erotic series.

She has been traveling to the places that are featured in her books. She recently signed books in Portland, Oregon, according to KPTV, where some scenes take place, especially the scenes at the Heathman Hotel, including the steamy one in the bathtub.

According to the Fifty Shades Movie Fansite , on Sept. 14 one fan asked James via Twitter if she would be visiting The Heathman Hotel elevator, which was the scene of a very steamy moment between the main characters, Christian and Ana. James responded, in her signature humor saying "sure am... just hoping I can find the right person to share it with me..."

Most of the story line takes place in Seattle, Wa., where James traveled to on Sept. 22.

Some fans can help but wonder: Is E.L. James also looking at locations for film production?

This would not seem out of touch with all these other casting rumors. Many wonder if filmmakers will actually produce the movie at the locations in the book, which would be uberly exciting for fans all over.

James posted a series of tweets on her Twitter page, showing the locations where the book takes places. Some pictures are from the Escala penthouse.

It seems like we don't know a lot of information, but it seems that a script might be in place as well.

Recently, James appeared on the Katie Couric show to chat about the book and casting.

According to USA Today, Couric revealed that a Facebook poll of show fans revealed that Alexis Bledel should play Anastasia Steele and Ian Somerhalder should be cast as Christian Grey.

What did E.L. have to say about the movie?

"Ummm," she laughed. "It's a sort of collaborative effort, but there's, you know, a studio, a production company, there's two producers, and at some point there's going to be a director. So I'm sure everybody will have input into that. And I have I think three people who could fit, I think, could play Christian and about four who could play Ana. And I'm not going to tell you any of them."

James said something similar to this in previous interviews. But does she hint that they already picked a screenwriter? Wouldn't she have said, "a studio, a production company, there's two producers, and at some point there's going to be a director AND SCREENWRITER?"

Who really knows at this point.

"True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard may have hinted at a finished script Monday in an interview with ET Canada.

According to TheStir.CafeMom.com, Skarsgard recently admitted that he would play the much coveted role of Christian Grey.

And when asked about that possibility by ET Canada, Skarsgard, 36, responded with, "Of course. It's a great script." What does this "script" actually mean? Is there a real script involved? If so, that means there is a screenwriter.

He sounded excited, then tried to clean it up by saying there are "so many variables" when it comes to taking the role and added, "It depends on who's directing it and who's in it." This means that Skarsgard is considering taking the part if offered to him.

In early August it was reported that the producers have narrowed it down to four front-runners for writers: Karen Croner, Dan Fogelman, Veena Sud, and Kelly Marcel. [NOTICE: three out of the four are women].

The "Fifty Shades" trilogy ("Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker," "Fifty Shades Freed") tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM while trying to understand their complicated relationship.
