'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Top Six Contenders for Christian Grey Include Robert Pattinson, Justin Bieber, Zac Efron [POLL]

It's time for another Books & Review casting poll!

Many names are being added to the already long list of stars to play the important role of Christian Grey.

The "Fifty Shades" trilogy ("Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker," "Fifty Shades Freed") tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM while trying to understand their complicated relationship.

We have six stars (some are fan favorites) to play the role of Christian. They include "One Direction" star Niall Horan, Actor Colin Egglesfield, Singer Justin Bieber, "True Blood" Alexander Skarsgard, Actor Sac Efron, and "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson.

Justin Bieber, 18

This "As You As You Love Me" singer wasn't always a fan favorite. However, Biebs recently did an interview with British talk show host Jonathan Ross, where he was asked about playing Christian.

After Ross joked that the risque novel had encouraged Bieber's army of devoted fans, the singer let slip, "They actually want me to be in the movie!" Bieber didn't elaborate much more on the talks, or reveal whether or not he would take on the role of businessman Christan Grey."

Bieber also revealed to the presenter that he has banned himself from discussing his love life. He added, "At the end of the day I'm always going to be their Justin, regardless of who I'm dating."

''I like to make sure my fans are comfortable."

Bieber further explained that he wants to be respected for his musical abilities and not for his handsome looks, saying, ''I love being young and being in the spotlight but I want to be taken seriously as an artist, be known for my music and not necessarily known for a flick of my hair.''

One Books & Review commenter said, "I can see Bieber playing the part of Christian Grey AS the young 15 year old boy with Mrs. Robinson."

Robert Pattinson, 26

This "Twilight" star has been a fan favorite since the beginning. After all, Christian was inspired by his character in the "Twilight" movies, Edward Cullen, so it's natural that Pattinson would be in the running for the lead role as Christian.

Pattinson recently did an interview and talked "Fifty Shades of Grey," written by bestselling author E.L. James.

When asked if he knew it was based on his character as Edward, he replied, "I think the author has written me out of it. I saw some interview earlier and they went, oh, it could never be him. And I'm like, 'Hey, I'm going to make you pay for that.'"

Is he vying for the role? Is he angry that some think he's not capable to play Christian? Pattinson, 26, has always been a great dodger when it comes to certain questions, not really giving a clear answer.

"It's funny seeing all these other actors so openly like vying for it. I've never seen that happen before. It's so strange," Pattinson said. "I haven't read the whole thing, I read bits of it."

Pattinson openly admitted in the past that he would lick the pages of "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Pattinson revealed that he's always played weird characters (many will argue that vampires aren't weird), so the part of Christian Grey might not be far from weird.

"I mean every part I played is always kind of like sort of weird. But I don't know, I find kind of random things, the movie I'm doing next, is a real guy, an interrogator and he's not particularly weird or anything, he's just like, he's kind of, well he's a little weird," the "Cosmopolis" actor said.

Christian, the 27-year-old sexy BDSM-crazed billionaire, goes through a lot of obstacles and lives in a world that most of us have probably never seen or heard of before. So it might be weird anyway. Who better to play a part like this than an actor who plays weird parts?

One Books & Review commenter said, "I think Robert P. would be an excellent choice to play the role of Christian. Something about his mysterious personality in Twilight reminds me of Christian. Controlling, sweet, sensual, and not to mention his looks; square jaw, blue eyes, hair, body. I think he could really get into character and bring Christian to life on screen."

Alexander Skarsgard, 35

This actor has been on the list from the beginning. At Comic-Con San Diego 2012, he revealed to fans that he hasn't read the book nor has he been offered a casting part.

However, in a recent interview, the "True Blood" actor said he wants the coveted role of Christian Grey.

According to TheStir.CafeMom.com, And when asked about that possibility by ET Canada, Skarsgard responded with, "Of course. It's a great script."

He then said there are "so many variables" when it comes to taking the role and added, "It depends on who's directing it and who's in it." This means that Skarsgard is considering taking the part if offered to him.

This is not the first time Skarsgard had said he wanted to play Christian. He was one of the first to say that he wanted to play the lead role when the "Fifty Shades" movie got a lot of buzz.

"Where do I sign," Skarsgard said, reported by Cafemom.com "He's got a sex chamber? My character [Eric Northman] has that on 'True Blood.' He's got a little dungeon. I was born to play that part."

The actor appeared in a short advertisement for Calvin Klein's latest fragrance, "Encounter."

According to Business Insider, the ad was inflencued by "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"There's little doubt the new ad wasn't influenced by the latest phenomenon considering how close the short film attempts to mirror elements of James' novel. Even the ad's dark blue and grey tones bear a striking resemblance to the covers of the "50SoG" novels," Business Insider said.

There's even focus of Skarsgard riding up an elevator - an imperative place of interest for the book-to the home shrouded in glass windows.

Colin Egglesfield, 39

This actor is a fan favorite also. He at one point said he could play Christian.

"Why do you think I would be Christian? What are you saying? Are you saying I have a devious sexual side that I need some therapy to help treat?" Egglesfield laughed with Access Hollywood at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco on Friday.

"Is that what you're saying? Because I could do it," he added of the Christian Grey role. "I think I could do it."

Egglesfield said he hasn't read the book yet, but he will. "It's on my reading list," he added.

In a radio interview with Kiss 92.5 Hit Music's Roz & Mocha, Egglesfield talked about fans putting his name in the "Fifty Shades" mix.

"I haven't even read the book yet," Egglefield said. "It's flattering to be considered for it but I have to read it."

The radio show then asked the 39-year-old actor if he would be open to playing Christian in the movie.

"Are you saying I have some sort of sexual deviancy about me?" Christian jokingly asked in response.

Then, "The Client List" actor was given some lines from the "Fifty Shades" novel. He played Christian, while Damnit Maurie (he's a guy) played Anastasia.

Egglesfield jokingly said, "Where's my riding whip?"

This radio interview might actually be the proof that Egglesfield has what it takes to pull the erotic role off. His voice sounded just like Christian's, soft and sexy and deep.

Niall Horan, 19

This one might be a little too young for the role of Christian, but that doesn't stop his fans from saying that want him to take the lead role.

The "One Direction" singer admitted before that he was reading the "Fifty Shades" books.

"A girl gave it to me the other day," he told the Daily Mirror, according to HollywoodLife. "I read the first page and put it down. But it was good!"

A new fan-made trailer features Horan as Christian. According to CelebsGather, a new Sims version of a trailer has released on Youtube. They report:

"What makes it truly bizarre is that this trailer's Christian Grey is a slim, blond yuppie in a pin striped suit who's the animated spitting image of One Direction's blond heart-throb (and Demi Lovato fan), Niall Horan. That's right. As you can see on the video below, when the Sims version of Anastasia who's obviously an animated incarnation of Kristen Stewart as the clumsy Bella Swan, literally falls into the Christian's office, sparks fly. But, "will she fall into something more dangerous?" queries the caption floating across the darkened screen. That question segues into a close-up of a bra and panties clad Anastasia blindfolded and bound to a large cross in Christian's playroom. There's even a vanilla sex scene between the two before Anastasia freaks out and presumably runs away."

Zac Efron, 24

This actor has been in "Fifty Shades" fans talk about playing Christian Grey, but maybe the younger Christian with Elena Lincoln (Mrs. Robinson), which he was seduced by as a teen and he was turned into her submissive.

PolicyMic came up with a list of 25 actors under 25 that could play the small role in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie. Efron is listed as number one.

Efron also showed up in a fan-made "Fifty Shades" trailer with "Spiderman" actress Kristen Dunst as Ana Steele.

GatherEntertainment reported:

"Zac might be a bit too baby-faced to play a dark and disturbed man like Christian Grey, but he's certainly hot enough to get the ladies' pulses racing. He also proved that he can probably handle shooting the many awkward sex scenes in 50 Shades - after letting Nicole Kidman pee on him in The Paperboy, stripping down and spanking a woman should be a piece of cake."
