Amazon Kindle Fire 2, HD Release Date, Specs: iPad Mini Will Still Dominate Because of Strong Demand, Apple Loyalty Despite Rave Reviews

Will the buzz around the Kindle Fire 2,HD die down after Apple's releases their iPad Mini? New reports say yes.

According to PCTablet, one reason is because Apple loyalty.

"Apple is giving their fans what they are looking for. The style. Even one of UK court judge in one of his statement said Apple tablets looks more cool and stylish than Samsung," the website said. "So it is evident that the style statement is factor behind Apple products success. So if Apple closest competitors want to remain in field then they have to create something which will be loved by this generation."

WPTV reported that ipad mini will "kill holiday sales" of the new Kindle, and that the while the 7-inch Fire HD, which was relased on Sept. 14, is better than the original Kindle, it's still not an iPad.

"The Amazon Kindle Fire HD may not meet the company's goal of creating 'the best tablet at any price,' our tests suggest. But it's a fine performer that improves markedly on the first-generation Fire," read Consumer Reports review.

The good thing:

"In particular, glare is reduced over the HD's predecessor, creating a screen that's among the easiest to read in bright light among tablets we've tested. Color fidelity is also a step up on the old Fire, though it's still a little behind the third-generation iPad screen, which has the highest color accuracy we've measured on a tablet," it read.

Also earning high marks were its 8 hours of battery life, improved access to cloud storage, and the addition of a physical volume button and camera -- two knocks against the original Fire.

The Bad thing:

Consumer Reports said it found "no major flaws" with the new Kindle tablet, according to PCTablet. But what it called "quibbles" included the lack of a fully stocked app store, lack of a memory card to add to its 16GB or 32GB of memory and the fact that the advertised prices are for a "special offers" version that includes ads. (Ad-free versions are available for $15 more).

"The original Kindle Fire felt like an experiment, a 'can we do this?' moment for Amazon," Joshua Topolsky from TheVerge wrote. "The new, $199 Fire HD feels like something very different. A product with an attitude, a directive, a plan. And that plan seems to be something like this: hit them on price, hit them on ecosystem, and hit them where it hurts the most -- product design."

But like others, he noted, when stacked up against the iPad and Google's Nexus 7, the device "still has a long way to go," WPTV reported.

"I think it can get there, but it isn't there yet," he wrote.

The iPad Mini is not even out yet, but PCTablet reported that Apple is still winning the race.

Pricing may be an issue for the little Apple tablet, however. The Kindle Fire HD with 16GB costs $199 while the 16GB Nexus 7 costs $249 with all the Android content. According to Pop Herald, "If Apple will sell the iPad Mini with a $249.99 price tag, then it will be safe to assume that Apple can sell "millions." But what if the iPad Mini will sit within the $300 to $399 mark? Can it still lure customers?"

Still, strong demand for the iPad Mini is apparent. New details surfaced that t Apple already ordered up to 10 million units of the iPad Mini, obviously anticipated a huge sale.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Asia component suppliers said that they received orders to make more than 10 million units of the iPad Mini in the fourth quarter.

"That is roughly double the order that were placed for Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets in the same quarter, these suppliers say," WSJ reported. "The figure indicates that Apple believes demand for the product will be strong, despite stiff competition in the market."

Still, Amazon might be winning when it comes to a great e-reader.

Kindle Fire HD series poses a huge threat for the iPad Mini to give the readers the best experience when having an e-reader. It features Whispersync for Voice, which Amazon syncs all your books across all your gadgets, that syncs your words-book with your audiobook. You can also sync up your progression in games. Another feature will be Immersion Reading. You can listen to the narration of your book while you read it. It has over 11 hours of reading, surfing the web on WiFi, watching video or listening to music. Of course, battery life depends on users' personal settings and factors such as downloading content and how much they browse the web.

It was recently announced that Google is working on two new versions of the popular Nexus 7 that is expected to be thinner, and one of them will be $99. Barnes & Noble announced that the company is launching Nook Video in the fall that will feature content from major studios including HBO, Sony, Starz, Warner Bros., and Disney.
