'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting Madness: Fans Frustrated With Lack of 'Real' News, Losing Interest; E.L. James, Producers to Blame?

Fans are still shouting out who they want to play the lead roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie. But to some, all the polls and discussions of "fake" news is getting pretty old.

News is news. If an actor or actress talks about playing the role, this is great, especially if he/she is a huge fan favorite. But this is not what fans are looking for apparently. They want REAL casting news. They want to hear E.L. James say "We have casted..." or producers Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti to say "We narrowed it down to two actors for Christian Grey."

You would think announcing the screenwriter of the highly anticipated movie would be enough "real news" for now. But no, fans want casting news.

Fans are tired of polls, and some flooded one Books & Review article, "Battle of Top 5 Hottest Trailers for Christian Grey Include Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Gosling."

Tremendous fan favorite Somerhalder usually dominates polls against others. But this time, Bomer is in the lead, another huge fan favorite. However, bored "Somerhalder" fans have an explanation for that.

One commenter said, "The reason Ian is not currently leading is simple. Poll fatigue has set-in.  Polls are popping up everywhere, and most fans, like me, are no longer fussed about voting. Ian's supporters in particular no longer have a point to prove. He has won virtually all the early/1 vote polls, from Cosmo to Couric. He's No.1 fan favorite - validated.  Just wanted to put this out there, so those who are trying to make a big deal about his current poll position know the real deal."

Another agreed, "So true. Voter fatigue has definitely set in. How many times can people vote on the same thing over and over again... I think the fan favorites have been made clear for a very long time now. It's was fun at first, but it's no longer fun and has become quite redundant and dragged out."

One more fan said, "I would prefer real new news, not poll after poll confirming what we already know - who the fan favorites are.   Only Matt's fans and sites latch onto polls... they're making such a big deal that he's leading in this and another new poll, while most fans are just getting bored."

One fan simply said, "Never ending list is getting tiresome." And yes, it is literally a never-ending list.

Some even lashed out at the directors and author James, saying that it doesn't seem like they are even interested in telling fans what's really going on about the movie.

One commenter said, "From what I'm hearing all the fan bases are getting tired of this. Fans are becoming Fifty Shades of discontent. Eventually people will lose interest and move on if no news is forthcoming. I don't have much faith that what the fans want will be considered. Those involved with the film don't seem to be too fan friendly."

Another fan agreed, "They're not fan friendly. The author is fine, but I get the impression she's finding the whole thing a real chore. The producers appear to have an inflated sense of entitlement.   One in particular should just stop tweeting.  Forget having faith, this lot will do what they want...  so will I with my hard earned money."

Universal Pictures just announced the screenwriter for the erotic film, Kelly Marcel, and boy does she have a lot of pressure on her to give the fans what they want but avoid an NC-17 rating (which seems impossible with all the whipping, spanking and hand-cuffing).

Fans know what they want and are upset they are waiting this long for SOME type of news. Hopefully Marcel gets to stay out of the crazed "Fifty Shades" fan whirlpool. Come on guys, she's innocent enough!

Maybe they will spare the director as well (whenever they pick one).
