HTC Windows Phone 8X Verizon Release Date Nov. 12, Price Revealed, Samsung ATIV S Specs to Compete

New details emerged for an anticipated Windows 8 smartphone.

According to TechnoBloom, the HTC Windows Phone 8X may hit shelves on Nov. 12.

Verizon has been silent on Windows Phone 8 details, but the recent information points to a Nov. 12 release with a price tag of $199.99 with a two-year service agreement.

"This information came from our sources that got their hands on a very confidential Minimum Advertized Price (MAP) list of the wireless provider. In fact, the November 12 release date of the HTC Windows Phone 8X could very well turn out to be spot on because this coincides with a previous tip given to us that the wireless provider is already training its employees about the Windows Phone 8 devices that it is expected to launch," TechnoBloom said.

The HTC Phone 8X features a Qualcomm S4 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor with 16GB storage and 1GB RAM. It has a 4.3-inch super LCD 2 touch screen with 1280 x 720 resolution with HD 720p resolution Gorilla Glass 2. It has an 8-megapixel camera with a dedicated HTC ImageChip and a 1800 mAh battery. It also comes with Beats Audio built-in. It comes in various colorful designs.

Best Buy is selling the HTC Windows Phone 8X on their website with 8GB for AT&T. It has a $99.99 price tag for a two-year contract and says it will ship when available. It only comes in Purple for now.

Another frequently talked about Windows 8 phone is the Samsung ATIV S.

The ATIV S features a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution at 305ppi with 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor. It comes with 16/32 memory plus 1GB of RAM with microSD and 1GB of RAM. It has a 2,300mAh battery and an 8-megapixel Auto Focus rear-facing camera with a 1.9-megapixel front camera. It also comes with SkyDrive with free cloud storage. It comes in 16GB and 32GB.

Microsoft recently launched their Windows 8 software in New York City on Tuesday. The company plans to announce their final version of Windows Phone 8 on Oct. 29 in California. U.S. Carriers (AT&T, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, Sprint, T-Mobile) are expected to reveal price and release date details.
