'Reflected in You' Tops 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in Every Way, Sylvia Day's Crossfire Series to Be the Next Erotic Hit

"Fifty Shades of Grey" may be losing the crown with a similar erotic novel taking over.

According to Telegraph.co.uk, "Reflected in You" by Sylvia Day has sold over 80,000 paperbacks in the U.K. in its first days of release, which is more than E.L. James' bestseller "Fifty Shades of Grey" told in its first full week on sale.

Nielsen BookScan reported that "Reflected in You" has sold 82,759 in the last week. Penguin Group published the book on Oct. 23.

British publishing industry magazine the Bookseller editor Phillip Stone said in an interview, "It's Penguin's biggest ever paperback sale [since official records began], which I think is quite incredible given Penguin is the house of Jeremy Clarkson, Jamie Oliver and Jeff Kinney."

"I think its mega-sale proves two things: one, that the erotica boom is here to stay, and two, that there's still life in the printed book. Reflected in You has been on sale in digital formats for a month already," Stone told The Guardian. "Despite this, the paperback edition still enjoyed one of the strongest ever opening-week sales for a printed book since records began."

"Reflected in You" is the second book in Day's Crossfire Series, the first book being "Bared to You;' both novels are New York Times bestsellers.

The second Crossfire novel beat "Fifty Shades of Grey" on New York Times E-Book Fiction Bestseller list. It has also beat "Fifty Shades" for the last two weeks on the Combined Print & E-Book Fiction list.

"Reflected in You" is described:

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We'd never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...

The novel got mostly four and five stars on GoodReads. One reader said, "I loved every, single moment of it! If I had custom ordered this book straight from the deepest book desires of my heart, it could not have been any better."

Another review said, "I didn't read this book - I devoured it!"

One more said, "As I devoured this book, I realized Sylvia Day's amazing talent shines. It's filled with angst, insatiable raw need that's intense and a love that's obsessive and exclusive. The chemistry sizzles and each scorching hot love scene is remarkably filled with an intimacy that's palpable."

Who knows. Maybe Day's novels will turn into movies, just like "Fifty Shades of Grey" did.
