Jennifer Lawrence recently spoke out about her main character in the film, Katniss Everdeen.

According to Today Entertainment, Lawrence faced criticism from those who thought she was too curvy to play Katniss after she was cast as the role.

However, in a recent interview with Elle magazine, she said that "she didn't want young girls skipping dinner to look like Katniss," and even said that she is "obese" by Hollywood standards.

In a new interview with NBC's Andrea Canning on Wednesday, Lawrence said that she doesn't plan on changing her figure.

"I've never really dieted or wanted to diet, or anything, and I just feel like, it's something that really overwhelms our industry in an unfortunate way," Lawrence explained. "It just kind of becomes this distracting dark cloud."

"I grew up with tabloids and seeing it on TV, and who's losing this much weight, how to lose this weight this fast, and it's just ... it's kind of gross," she said. "And I'm just ready for it to stop."

All that criticism seems to be gone now as fans absolutely love Lawrence playing Katniss.

After production in Atlanta, the film will subsequently be shot on location in the beaches and jungles of Hawaii before wrapping in late December, 2012, Lionsgate announced.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is described:

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

"Catching Fire" releases in theaters on Nov. 22, 2013.
