Studio Ghibli, the legendary animation studio that has become a household name because of movies such as "Kiki's Delivery Service," is making fans ecstatic over its new cookbook focused on delicious dishes from this magical film.

Since 2021, Studio Ghibli has continued to excite fans with official recipe books filled with the delicious dishes advertised in their iconic anime movies. This power anime has for making regular foods almost irresistible does not fall short in Studio Ghibli's culinary creations.

Whimsical Culinary Adventure

Focused exclusively on the whimsical coming-of-age movie "Kiki's Delivery Service," this latest installment will provide readers with recipes for all the mouthwatering delights showcased in the film. These include the iconic dishes from Gutiokipanja Bakery, where Kiki operates her delivery service.

The book is thoughtfully crafted with brightly-colored, easy-to-follow text, making it an ideal companion for young children. The complete title of the book, "Ghibli's Dining Table Children's Cooking Picture Book - Kiki's Delivery Service," might be as elaborate as the delectable dishes it features, with recipes crafted to be simple and enjoyable.

Shufunotomosha Co., Ltd., the publisher, highlighted that Ghibli recipe books are designed to bring children and parents closer. It is also meant to provide enjoyment for adults new to cooking.

"Kiki's Delivery Service" was released in 1990 and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The film tells the touching story of Kiki, a young witch who tries to find her place within society while running an air courier service.

Gutiokipanja Bakery's Delightful Recipes

Gutiokipanja Bakery, owned by Kiki's friend Osono-san and her husband Fukuo, serves as the backdrop for many delectable moments in the movie. "Ghibli's Dining Table: Kiki's Delivery Service" offers step-by-step instructions with numerous pictures explaining the cooking processes.

The recipes include the delightful shortbread cookies, round bread loaves, and mountain-shaped bread available at Osono's shop. The book also shares recipes for special treats like browned pancakes and milk soup, specially crafted for Kiki by Osono herself.

As Kiki's journey unfolds, viewers encounter Madame, another talented baker whose unique creations find their way into the cookbook. Exclusive recipes include Madame's roasted herring and pumpkin pie and the chocolate cake she gifts to Kiki as a token of gratitude. 

Studio Ghibli has also gone the extra mile by including additional recipes inspired by the magical world and characters of Kiki, including Tombo's cookies and striped jelly, magic berry soda, witch's ribbon snack, and black cat cake lollipop. 

'Dining Table' Series Cookbooks

This release follows the success of previous cookbooks in Ghibli's "Dining Table" series dedicated to "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Castle in the Sky." The "Totoro" edition, tied to the 1988 film featuring the iconic forest spirit, guides fans in recreating Satsuki's bento boxes and Granny's homemade ohagi (sweet rice balls). "Totoro" also introduced a character that became Studio Ghibli's official mascot. The 1986 film "Castle in the Sky" also got its cookbook featuring delicious meals prepared by Pazu and Sheeta during their journey.

"Ghibli's Dining Table: Kiki's Delivery Service" will be made available on the shelves on March 14. Until then, fans can stream the entire Studio Ghibli film library, including "Kiki's Delivery Service," on Max. So, get ready to bring the magic of Kiki's world into your kitchen!
