The Blackpool Combat Club (BCC) is not only about fighting; they also have a book club. Bryan Danielson confirmed the existence of the BCC book club. He expressed that they would often exchange book recommendations and emphasized the value of reading. According to him, delving into the world of books offers abundant opportunities for learning and growth.

The Evolution of the Blackpool Combat Club

Since its formation in 2022, the Blackpool Combat Club has emerged as one of the most prominent and frequently featured groups on AEW programming. The group established by Danielson, Jon Moxley, and William Regal had recruited new members such as Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli. However, they parted ways with Regal when he opted to rejoin World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). BCC remains active in AEW competitions.

Moxley is focused on New Japan Pro-Wrestling, wherein he just recently became the IWGP world heavyweight champion. Wheeler has been on the injured list since January. Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli have been going on in AEW, even winning a tag match on Saturday night on Collision.

Danielson and Castagnoli both have matches this week with wrestling sensation Will Ospreay. Castagnoli faces Ospreay on Dynamite on April 17, and Danielson shares the ring with him on April 21 at the Dynasty pay-per-view.

Staying Connected Through Books

The group has been apart since their wrestling trip to Mexico two weeks ago for a match at Arena Mexico in Mexico City. However, they stay connected through the BCC text chain - and, more importantly, the BCC book club.

Danielson mentioned that the BCC book club plays a role in maintaining their connection. He emphasized their shared belief in the enriching power of reading. Interestingly, Danielson is one of the founders of the BCC book club, along with Moxley, which might surprise some.

Danielsons shared that Moxley is an avid reader who enjoys thinking critically and creatively. While Claudio reads slightly less, he still enjoys it. Danielson is uncertain about Wheeler's reading habits. He remarked about their collective efforts to read more.

Cultivating Mind and Muscle

Danielson can usually be engrossed in a book when he is not wrestling. He mentioned that he typically reads three books simultaneously. He has recommended Mary Oliver's "Devotions" as an excellent poetry introduction.

For Danielson, reading goes beyond a hobby; it is a fundamental lifestyle aspect. He elaborated, expressing his reservations about social media. Danielson questioned whether he wanted to invest his time in content that someone put little thought into, contrasting it with the depth and effort put into books by authors and editors.

Danielson claimed that reading has played a pivotal role in his life as it has led to writing. He wrote and published his book in 2016. This detailed narrative portrays the rise of an underdog to one of the WWE's beloved stars. Danielson reminisces about his wrestling childhood ambitions and this decade-long journey on the independent circuit that led him to the upper echelons of WWE.

While his primary goal is not necessarily publication, he derives immense joy from the process. In the past year and a half, he has dedicated himself to refining his writing abilities to articulate his ideas clearly. In a society where social media frequently dictates moral standards, Danielson viewed writing as a way to establish his convictions and principles, free from external pressures.
