Hillary Clinton's Memoir could be 'Biggest Book of The Year', Predict Booksellers

The Guardian reports that booksellers worldwide have predicted that Hillary Clinton's unpublished memoir could be the biggest book of the year.

It's always time to celebrate for booksellers when a book does phenomenally well. They bring in extra profit with every sale. Such was the case with E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey", and such may be the case with Hillary Clinton's unpublished memoir, which is yet to be titled. According to a report by The Guardian, booksellers are predicting that the Secretary of State's fifth book could be the biggest book of 2014.

The book will reportedly contain details of events including the killing of Osama bin Laden, the Arab Spring and the rise of China. "Throughout, Secretary Clinton will offer vivid personal anecdotes and memories of her collaboration with President Obama and his national security team, as well as her engagement with leaders around the world," said Simon & Schuster, describing Clinton as a politician who has "redefined the meaning of 'trailblazer' in every phase of her career on the world stage, as First Lady, senator, secretary of state, and notably, as an author."

Jon Howells of Waterstones calls the book's acquisition "great news", considering how well Clinton's previous memoir "Living History" did. It sold 200,000 copies in its first day of sale in the U.S. when it was published in 2003. "Her reputation has now been enhanced by a very successful term serving with President Obama. She's a popular and important figure who has been a key figure in recent world events - this should be one of 2014's major titles," The Guardian quoted Howells as saying.

Foyles' Jonathan Ruppin shares the same thoughts, saying he doubts there'll be a bigger political book out in 2014. "The biggest factor is likely to be whether or not she's setting herself up for a run at the presidency. If people think she is, it could be pretty huge," he said. "The other is that there are so few high-profile female politicians, she'll draw in a considerable female readership."
