Sam Taylor-Johnson To Direct 'Fifty Shades of Grey": Author All Praises For Director

Author E.L James was all praises about Sam Taylor-Johnson after she recently revealed that the director will film the movie adaptation of the erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Much buzz has been created about the casting for the movie adaptation of E.L James' "Fifty Shades of Grey" as fans and movie enthusiasts speculate which celebrities would grab the lead roles. Recently the author revealed that "Nowhere Boy" director, Sam Taylor-Johnson would be directing the film.

"I saw both of her films, and I was blown away. Simple. She's creative, incredibly talented, she's got an extraordinary eye. She had a good idea about the whole Fifty experience, she understands it," the Vulture quoted James as saying. "And I thought, There's a woman I can go and get drunk with."

James also revealed to the tabloids that she was not the only one who made the decision to recruit Taylor-Johnson as the director.

"Actually, it's not just me!" protested the author. "Everybody keeps asking, 'Why did you decide ... ' It wasn't just me! There's a huge friggin' studio behind this."

Rumors had it that the author will reveal more details about casting for the film at Comic-Con 2013 but that didn't happen. James took to her Twitter account that the only detail she had about the movie was its director.

More recently, word was out that MTV's La La Anthony had also expressed her desire for the part of Anastasia Steele in the film.

"If that opportunity came my way, I would take it," Anthony gushed to EnStars July 19. "That book spread like wildfire everywhere. It went from one person knowing about it to every person you ran into talking about it... so if the opportunity came, I'd do it."

Other potential contenders for the role include "Twilight's" Kristen Stewart, Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls," former Disney star Selena Gomez, and Mila Kunis of "That 70s Show."
