Amazon Coins Can Now Be Used To Make Android Purchases By US, UK and Germany Customers

In a new announcement, Amazon revealed that U.S., U.K. and Germany customers can now use Amazon coins to make purchases on their Android devices.

Amazon is taking big steps in the direction of luring customers their way. In a new development, the giant retailer revealed that U.S., U.K. and Germany customers can now use Amazon coins to make purchases on their Android devices. Previously, customers could only use the coins on their Kindle devices.

Customers simply need to download the latest version of the Amazon Appstore and their existing Coins balances automatically appear on their Android devices. Existing Android customers can upgrade to the latest version of the Amazon Appstore on their mobile device.

"Since the launch of Amazon Coins, we've been amazed by the number of customers using Coins, as well as how many Coins they're spending on apps and games," said Mike George, Vice President, Amazon Appstore and Games. "Because customers can earn Coins when they buy apps in Amazon's Appstore, and because they can buy Coins themselves at up to a 10% discount, customers love the extra value they get when shopping in our Appstore."

Amazon announced the introduction on the all new Amazon coins in May, 2013. With these coins, customers can purchase games, apps and in-apps items for their Kindle Fire devices. As part of an introductory scheme all existing and new Kindle Fire customers will have 500 Amazon coins (worth $5) credited to their accounts immediately for free.   Amazon also noted that customers who purchase coins in bulk will receive a 10 percent discount allowing them to buy more apps and games for their Kindle Fires. Coins can be purchased on the company's website.
