Festival of Books 2015 Update: Authors, Dates & Schedule

The much awaited L.A. Times Festival of Books is coming on April 18 to 19 at the University of Southern California (USC). Here is an update on the participants and the schedule of events. 

Meet and Greet Authors

Hundreds of renowned authors will be present during the event, including Keegan Allen, T.C. Boyle, Bernard Cook, Samantha Dunn, Elizabeth Eulberg, Pat Levitt and many more, so don't forget to get your books signed and have a photograph with your favorite author, says L.A. Times.

Events and Activities

Since it is a big event it is best to plan your schedule ahead to make sure that'll you'll meet your favorite author or get a chance to join talks and forums.

The Saturday event will be in 22 stages including The Cooking Stage, Travel Smart Stage, Los Angeles Times Stage, YA Stage, Reading by 9 Children's Stage, USC Stage, LA Sound Stage, Poetry Stage and more. For more information, check on the schedule posted in L.A. Times.

Evening Events

Three events will be staged after dark including The Spoken World a performance by Marc Bamuthi Joseph on April 16, at 7-8:30 PM in the Bovard Auditorium, The Book Drop Bash on April 18 at 8:30-11:30 PM at the Los Angeles Public Library, and on April 19, the Literary Death March at 8-10 PM in Largo at the Coronet.

Tickets

Although general admission is free, passes and tickets are required for the events.

The conversation ticket is required throughout the event, but it will be free and distributed at the festival ticketing booth. It will also be available in advance starting April 12 at 9 a.m. but will require $1 service fee. Tip: Arrive minutes before the conversation to ensure seating.

There are also other tickets that are in a higher price but comes with more benefits, including the Festival Passes at $35 which will be on sale for the general public on March 25 and the new Super Pass $200, also available on March 25, which already includes valet parking for each day of the event, all access to the Conversations, Two book prizes tickets, poster, tote bag, mug, and access to a private respite area with beverages and seating.
