Grace Jones' Book 'I’ll Never Write My Memoirs' Release Date & Cover Art Revealed

Flavor Wire reports that for a few years, Jamaican singer, model and actress Grace Jones have been working on her memoir. Now, the book she ended up calling "I'll Never Write My Memoirs" that kept the fans waiting, finally gets a release date plus a cover reveal.

The Hollywood Reporter previewed the cover for the memoir, which showed a beaming Jones whose tongue touched her upper lip and eyes rolled to the right as she so charmingly did.

"I'll Never Write My Memoirs" chronicles what the multi-talented fashion model and singer-songwriter hailing from Spanish Town has been up to for the past 67 years. The book will hit shelves this fall.

For those who wonder why Jones named the memoir as such, as if she is beating the purpose of the title itself, Jones already shed a light on that in an earlier announcement that Billboard picked up.

"I wrote a song called 'Art Groupie.' First line said 'I'll never write my memoirs' - that was a long time ago. Since then, I thought, if I don't do it, somebody else will," Jones, who started modeling at the tender age of 17, explained.

Papermag says that the Jamaican-born fashion luminary shares in "I'll Never Write My Memoirs" her journey to becoming a high fashion model for Yves Saint-Lauren in Paris, during which she roomed with former model and actress, Jerry Hall, and collaborated with pop art avant-gardist, Andy Warhol.

She wrote in the book the memories she made as a hit-maker and a renowned actress in Hollywood. According to Bet, Jones also had fun telling her stories about her long stint in Studio 54 in New York, where she eventually released three disco albums.

Jones also made room in "I'll Never Write My Memoirs" to talk about her sleepovers with "American Horror Story" star, Jessica Lange, and her the experience starring alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Conan the Destroyer" and Roger's Moore's final James Bond film, "View to a Kill," Papermag reports.

According to Bustle, Jones did not shy away from writing about her modeling work and relationship with French photographer, Jean-Paul Goude. "I'll Never Write My Memoirs" will be distributed by Gallery Books on September 29.

While waiting, Gigwise says fans can catch Jones at this year's Afropunk Festival, where she will perform with Lenny Kravitz and Lauryn Hill. The event will take place from August 22 and 23 at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park.
