'X-Men: Apocalypse' Movie Trailer, Release Date & Cast: Comic Book Costume Adaptation Excites Fans

Something about the new X-Men movie is making fans more excited. Entertainment Weekly has released exclusive photos of the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse," which gained some exciting reaction from fans.

Many film adaptations in the past have strived to make superhero costumes better than what was featured in the comic books. For many superhero fans, the black mask or the 'S' on the chest is what makes the hero image complete. Making big changes in the costume leads to either pleasing or disappointing fans.

However, fans are excited to see that the "X-Men: Apocalypse" costumes closely resembles that from the book, making the movie "faithful" to the comics. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, "The issue of faithfulness to comic book costumes — or, rather, that movies would want to be faithful to the comic book costume — is a relatively new thing when it comes to superhero movies, at least in this current cycle."

Here are the new characters coming to "X-Men: Apocalypse" and their comic book costumes.

Jean Grey

A member of House of Stark is coming to the big screen as a mutant. "Game of Throne" star Sophie Turner is going to portray Jean Grey, who sees visions of a coming apocalypse happening in the future.

In the comic books, Jean Grey wears a green and gold costume.

Nightcrawler

Even as he crawls through the shadows, the mysterious character still caught attention. Known as a young teenager in "Slow West", Kodi Smit-McPhee has now teleported to a comic superhero role.

In the comic books, Nightcrawler has blue skin that disappears in the dark. He also wears a devil-like costume.

Apocalypse

Apparently, there wouldn't be any new movie to look forward to without this new villain.

After appearing as Poe Dameron in "The Force Awakens," actor Oscar Isaac is moving on to his plans of world domination as Apocalypse in the new X-men movie.

In the comic books, Apocalypse wears a bio-armor. In the movie, the costume will be enhanced with digital effects.

After the first footage was exclusively revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2015, recordings of the trailer have reportedly leaked online as Cosmic Book News reported. [Watch the trailer below.]

"I'd say it really isn't intended to be leaked," Producer Hutch Parker told Superhero Hype when asked about his thoughts on the rumor that the boot footage was leaked as a marketing strategy.

He thinks that leaking footage one year before the release of the movie was not a good thing.

Meanwhile, the "X-Men: Apocalypse" director recently posted a glimpse of the movie's script in Instagram.

The film was written by Simon Kinberg. "X-Men: Apocalypse" is coming to theaters on May 27, 2016.
