Catching Fire to be Released in IMAX Format

As "The Hunger Game" fans are starving for more as they wait for the release of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," now they will see more of their favorite movie in partly IMAX format.

"We are thrilled to continue the productive partnership we enjoyed with IMAX on the first installment of The Hunger Games," said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger, in a press release issued by Lionsgate and IMAX.

Some sequences in the film will be shot by IMAX cameras, which give a much larger format.

"Exclusively in IMAX® theatres, sequences shot with the extremely high-resolution cameras will expand to fill the entire screen with unprecedented crispness and clarity, putting moviegoers right into the action alongside Katniss and her fellow Tributes," said the press release.

According to MTV News, IMAX showings for the first Hunger Games movie greatly contributed to huge box-office numbers, "which is nearing the $650 million mark in global ticket sales, thanks in part to higher ticket prices."

The movie is in pre-production and is set to be released on November 22, 2013, according to IMDb.

"The training was never, like, tough. It was intense, but it was fun. So I'm looking forward to the next bout of training," Jennifer Lawrence told MTV News about part two, adding that she will even have a very different look for it. She joked, "For the second one, I will have a beard."

Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen, will be joined by the same cast for the main characters, Liam Hemsworth (who plays Gale Hawthorne), Josh Hutcherson (who plays Peeta Mellark), Elizabeth Banks (who plays Effie Trinket), and  Woody Harrelson (who plays Haymitch Abernathy).

Francis Lawrence will be the new director of Catching Fire; Lawrence said that she's excited the new movie will be "very real," according to LA Times.

"I really like his take, which is a lot of what I liked in Gary Ross," she added. "It's the realistic grasp of the story instead of all the details of the imaginary things."

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" will capture the rebellions under way against the Capitol after Katniss and Peeta won the latest round of the Hunger Games. But that's not the only upheaval. Katniss and Peeta must enter the Quarter Quell, another game that the Capitol has put together. "May the odds be ever in your favor!"
