According to Daily Mail, Tatum said he would play with a condition attached.

When asked if he would play the protagonist in the adaptation in an interview with U.K. Glamour Magazine, he responded: '1) Yes. 2) I'd only be allowed if my wife was Ana. She's read the books so I don't think she'd be impressed if she couldn't be Ana!'

Tatum's wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, is a professional dancer and actress who he met on the set of 2006 movie "Step Up."

Tatum is just the latest star to express interest play the complicated, good looking billionaire with unusual tastes in the bedroom, according to Daily Mail.

In recent casting news, a new poll conducted by USA Today revealed that fans of the erotic novel want "The Vampire Diaries" Ian Somerhalder to play the dominating Christian Grey, and Felicity Jones, from the TV series "The Worst Witch," to play innocent Anastasia Steele.

"I think it would be an amazing thing," the actor recently told MTV News, reported the Daily Mail. "One interesting thing is, by the virtue of playing (vampire) Damon for a few years, [he's] 170 plus years old, in love with an 18 year old, I officially have a lot of experience seducing younger women. I'm just saying."

According to various sources, "Drive" star Ryan Gosling was tipped to play the S&M billionaire Christian Grey, who persuades and dominates innocent student Anastasia Steele.

"The role of the sadomasochistic billionaire seems to be man-of-the-moment Ryan Gosling's to turn down. But the 'Drive' star may take some persuading," The Sun newspaper claimed.

As for 22-year-old Anastasia, recently it was rumored that "Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale was the frontrunner for the role. She admitted to reading to the book and wanting to play the innocent role in the upcoming movie.

"I'm definitely ready to explore a darker side," she said of her acting career, according to celebs.gather.com. She said she's ready to do something a "little more risky."

Other stars that are rumored to play the two roles are "Immortals" star Henry Cavill, Matt Bomer, "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper, "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard, Emma Stone, "Gilmore Girls" star Alexis Bledel, and "Skins" star Kaya Scodelario. "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are still fan favorites, even though E.L.
