New reports suggest that actress Katie Cassidy should play the feisty Kate in the movie.
FansShare describes Kate as, "Ana's best friend and room mate, and the reason behind Ana's initial meeting with sexy billionaire Christian Grey" and a "wealthy blonde."
The website suggested Katie Cassidy: "not only does she share the same name as the character, but we think she is just feisty enough to play the gorgeous part."
Cassidy, 25, stars as Laurel Lance in The CW's new television series "Arrow." She is also known for her roles in the series' "Supernatural," "Melrose Place," and "Gossip Girl."
The actress was placted on IBTimes Top 10 Actresses Who Could Play Kate Kavanagh list. The website describes the feisty character as "domineering, persistent, beautiful, vivacious and always do and get things her way." She also has strawberry blonde hair.
Does Cassidy have what it takes to play the supporting role to Anastasia Steele?
Astrochicks picked Cassidy to play innocent recent college grad Anastasia, who in the novel enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM (bondage, dominance, submission, masochism).
FansShare also listed "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence, "Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively, and Amanda Seyfried.
Among the list of stars favored for the role of Anastasia is "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke.
TheStir.CafeMom.com said that casting Clarke would be a great idea:
"The 25-year-old actress, who's a natural brunette, definitely has the right look. She's both innocent and sweet yet has the potential to be extremely badass. And speaking of asses, she has absolutely no problem with nudity, as she had multiple sex scenes with her on-screen husband. Needless to say, her body is smokin'!"
Gather Entertainment also described Clarke as "intriguing" and that she might be a better fit for the role because of her experience with darker themes explored in "Games of Thrones."
