Chris Brown and Rihanna back together? Rihanna Cries about Brown’s Abuse on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ (Video)

It's no secret Rihanna suffered some nasty physical abuse thanks to former boyfriend, and shining example for humanity Chris Brown. So, news of her breaking down when questioned by Oprah about the February 2009 incident in an interview for "Oprah's Next Chapter," should come as no surprise.

Set to air this Sunday, August 19, The "Umbrella" singer begins, "I lost my best friend... everything I knew switched -- switched in a night. And I couldn't control that. It's not easy to interpret on camera, not with the world watching."

Rihanna also discussed the tidal waves of emotion that drowned her in the subsequent weeks- "I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in."

"Because as angry as I was -- as angry and hurt and betrayed -- I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help. And who's going to help him? Nobody's going to say he needs help, everybody's going to say he's a monster, without looking at the source. And I was more concerned about him," she added.

Recent months have found the Internet flooded with rumors of a possible reconciliation between the couple, from anecdotes of the two canoodling at Cannes, to partying and kissing during a celeb-packed private party in Saint-Tropez.

Numerous sources are now reporting seeing the former couple kissing in plain sight of other partygoers like Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Leonardo DiCaprio on the yacht of Malaysian billionaire Taek Jho Low two weeks ago in Saint-Tropez. "It was a very private party on a yacht, so they were not worried," says an unnamed source. West put on a show for guests, performing some of his newest music and even serenading Kardashian during his last song.

Will the reunion last? We can only hope not.
