'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: E.L. James Picks Shailene Woodley for Anastasia Steele?

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" film adaption is coming underway.

A recent report revealed that "Fifty Shades" producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunett (also the producers of "The Social Network) have picked four front-runners for screenwriters: Karen Croner, Dan Fogelman, Veena Sud, Kelly Marcel.

Now, reports suggests that "Fifty Shades" trilogy bestselling author E.L. James has been eyeing an actress to play Anastasia Steele.

The "Fifty Shades" trilogy tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM (bondage, dominance, submission, masochism).

According to Digital Spy, Shailene Woodley is reportedly a favored choice to play Anastasia.

Woodley, who played George Clooney's daughter in "The Descendants," has allegedly "caught the eye" of James because of her acting in the Oscar-nominated film.

Woodley, 20, has been named on The Hollywood Reporter's list of up-and-coming Hollywood stars.

"The next big stars are the actress who plays Anastasia Steele and the actor who plays Christian Grey," says "Twilight" producer Marty Bowen of the eventual "Fifty Shades" couple. "They will certainly have an invitation to the A-list table."

Woodley also stars in the TV series "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" as Amy Juergens. She is currently filming the movie "The Spectacular Now" in Georgia, according to her website.

Recently, James took to Twitter to address all the casting rumors on who will play the lead parts of Christian and Anastasia.

"I am not making any comments on casting the movie. No one is ruled out or in yet - far too early," she tweeted.

Producers De Luca and Brunetti also informed fans that all actors and actresses are still up for the part, but they are only rumors.

"All the rumors on #FiftyShades are just rumors... No one has been cast in any role. We have to get a writer and a director first."

In a recent sketched photo of Anastasia Steele released by Hollywood.com, "Game of Thrones" Emilia Clarke closely resembles the sketch, which was made from the details in the book. Clarke is also a big fan favorite.

Ana is described as "a pale, brown-haired girl with blue eyes too big for her face." Another actress, Lara Stone, closely resembled the sketch.

"Twilight" star Anna Kendrick got flustered by "Fifty Shades" talk, and maybe hinted that she had some interest in the erotic series.

She recently stopped by Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live!" and dodged questions about being attached to "Fifty Shades."

"No I haven't read it but um...no I haven't read it." Kendrick, 27, smiled in a teasing way.

One viewer who called in caught the actress off guard with her question

The caller asked, "Who wouldn't want to be tied up by a hot guy, right?"

Kendrick looked bashful and laughed, saying "What!" like she was shocked.

"Step Up Revolution" star Ryan Guzman recently revealed that he wanted to play Christian Grey.

"Yeah, for sure. Let's do it," Guzman told Celebuzz's Hollywood Studio. The 25-year-old actor talked "Fifty Shades" along with "Step Up" co-star Kathryn McCormick. Back in July he said that he was going to start reading "Fifty Shades of Grey."
