'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting News: 'New Girl' Star Max Greenfield Wants Christian Grey Role; Is He Perfect For the Part?

Actors and actresses everywhere are speaking up about the coveted roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

There has been no word on casting yet, but fans already know who they want to play the crucial parts. Some celebrities are also putting themselves in the spotlight to talk about "Fifty Shades of Grey."

The "Fifty Shades" trilogy ("Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker," "Fifty Shades Freed"), written by bestselling author E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM while trying to understand their complicated relationship.

Fifty Shades Film revealed that actor Max Greenfield recently said he would take on the role of Christian Grey.

"I want to audition for the movie," Greenfield said in an interview with Celebuzz. "I think I'd be great in it!"

He added, "Look, when I read the book, I thought, 'What a comedy!' I think maybe I can bring a little bit of validity to the situation. Sometimes, you try to figure out life and what it all means, and maybe I only got this 'New Girl' job so that I would be enough of a commodity to get the role of Christian Grey in 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I'd probably retire after I did that because I think my performance would be just spot-on."

"I don't even think it's a shirtless thing," he deadpanned. "I think it's more of a raw intensity thing. Obviously, I'm the man for the job."

The "New Girl" star then had his opinion on who he would want to play Anastasia Steele, "Girls" star Lena Dunham.

"She's fantastic," he said of Dunham. "What if Judd [Apatow] and I collaborated and turned Fifty Shades of Grey into a movie together? That's what I'd like to do. Me, Lena [Dunham] and Judd. It's a done deal. I'm calling whoever owns the rights and making this happen."

Greenfield hasn't read the book yet, but he think it would be quite an experience.

"I have read anything in any of those scripts about "Fifty Shades of Grey," but I'm sure that it's going to come up. If we were going to do it, we'd have to dedicate an entire episode to it and go all out. Slowly but surely, everyone in the apartment will be reading it. It will be like a sexual awakening!"

Another actor who put his name in the Christian Grey mix is actor Colin Egglesfield. He read a portion of a script during a radio interview with Kiss 92.5 Hit Music's Roz & Mocha.
