iPhone 6S & 6S Plus Release Date & Price: Apple Getting Specs Help From Samsung? [Rumors]

Word on the street is that Apple and Samsung are setting aside rivalry to make the most powerful iPhone yet. According to DigiTimes, the South Korean tech firm along with TSMC started mass production for A9 processors that will allegedly be used on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S Plus.

The same report claimed that Apple called for the pair of manufacturers to make some marginal alterations in certain parts of the chipset, although it assured that the pre-planned outing of the couple of new iPhones would not be affected by this.

As per Phone Arena, there's no question that Apple trusts Samsung when it comes to the processors of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus as the Galaxy device maker has proven its capabilities with their in-house Exynos 7420, the unit inside Galaxy S6, which is responsible for its near-impeccable performance.

It is important to note that although TSMC is helping Samsung in the production of the processors, the company will commence its side of the production by fourth quarter of the year. This means that the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus units that will be released initially will have Samsung-made chips inside.

Either way, Phone Arena notes that most of the new iPhone units will house processors made by Samsung because TSMC is only manufacturing 30 percent of the whole shipment. It is also reportedly taking charge in the production of the Cirrus Logic audio chip and Touch ID for the new iPhones.

According to BGR, Samsung will be very busy as it will also soon start the production of the frequently leaked and rumored Galaxy Note 5. Being teased to be a beast of a phablet, the device is also a major priority for the tech giant.

Meanwhile, Digitimes also claims that Apple will order at least 80 million iPhone and iPhone 6S Plus units. This counters a recent report from Wall Street Journal that claimed the Cupertino giant is ramping up the demand to 100 million in anticipation of the greater success of the new smartphones.

The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus, which are expected to be unveiled in September, are touted to be the most powerful in their lineup, and, ultimately, the most lucrative for Apple as well.

As previously reported by Books N Review, the Force Touch, which originally debuted in the Apple Watch, will be seen in action in the new iPhones. There are also persistent rumors about the devices getting camera upgrades and more internal memory.
